Increase in Herb spawns

Recommended Posts

I'm new to Elysium and have been working on leveling my professions.

It seems, especially in lower level zones, herbs are extremely scarce.

I leveled Herbalism in Vanilla and it wasn't nearly this bad, but this servers population is much more than my server was back then.

I'm in my 30s so I don't know about higher level herbs, but it would be a huge help if lower level herbs spawn rates were increased, to help new characters level.

Herbs don't give you exp. How does increasing the spawnrate help you level?

I think he refers to skill level.
Anyway, I had to put time into actually running fully through a zone several times in order to skill it up so that I could gather higher level herbs. I'd also recommend you slap +5 Herbalism enchant on a pair of gloves

The devs NEED to increase the spawn rate of herbs our populations rediculous and everyone and there sister is a herbalist EVER zone that had dreamfoil and mountain silversages or plagueblooms are ovverun by at least 5-6 players herbing on each faction for agrand total of 10 ppl herbing in a single zone  that is way to much there arent enough herbs to go around and the price is stupid high and overinflated because of this  .  if you can change the spawn rate /timer of the bwl attunement guy then you can reduce the spawn time of herbs  please do so  there are  to many herbing and not enough herbs !

On Anathema plaguebloom is 60g a stack, up from 20-30g.

Dreamfoil is up to 40g-50g, up from 19g-29g under normal circumstances.

And it's not like we're asking for a super high respawn. Consider upping the respawn rate about 30-40% of what it is now and prices will get better as more people will sell.

Right now herbs are hard to come by so the people who do get herbs are usually keeping them for their own elixirs and flasks. Those who actually do sell can sell at a much higher price since demand is really huge.

This is actually having an effect on the War Efforts because stranglekelp/purple lotus/firebloom is much harder to obtain. Arthas Tears not so much because it seems to appear a lot in EPL in comparison to all other herbs.

Could any Admin please answer this topic? Why are dynamic respawn rates disabled?

Are you working on that problem? Nost did see the issue and fixed it. The reason we all are playing here...

Problem with the dynamic respawn system is that it was created with a large population in mind. When 10,000 players were all on one server herbs respawned appropriately. However when Anathema when the population started to tank thanks to the fresh server (horrible idea by the way. We could all be playing together on one server, but instead the admins decided to go the Kronos route) dynamic respawn system barely made a difference at around 5,000 population. Herbs simply weren't spawning in plenty, and the same number of people were there picking the most valuable herbs.

Dynamic respawns were turned off and a more static system was put in its place, but the same issue continues: The current herb spawn rate is not accommodating to the number of level 60s playing. In light of this, and the war effort, please increase the spawn rate by 40%.

Even on Darrowshire, herb spawns seem really low. I looked up the herb spawn map for Blindweed and did two full circuits around Swamp of Sorrows, passing by every single possible spawn point.

Two full circuits, around an entire zone. I found a total of eight nodes.

Same thing happens with Dreamfoil; I go from the western side of Azshara all the way up to the northeastern tip, passing by every spawn point on the way, and only find 3, maybe 4 spawns of it.

Would really love to be able to buy a flask for less than 100g.

Looking at other used items, you can't argue the 200g+ for a flask is a result of inflation.  It's pure supply vs demand and gouging.

If it was stimply inflation, it wouldn't be an issue since ALL items would be increased in sale value over a somewhat equal %, making the time to farm other goods the same in order to purchase your other needed consumables.   Though many prices of common trade goods and other items that can be farmed on a more reasonable bases have moved between a 75% - 130% value of what they were a year ago.    Compare this to an approaching 300% increase in price of Black Lotus, Dream foil, plague bloom, and gromsblood.

I am staying resilient at the time.  If I am not raiding, I am farming gold or mats to make a large stockpile of all Nature, Shadow, Arcane, Frost resist potions to add to my 200+ Fort and Agility elixirs and other built up consumables.  1 month of farming, between raiding and I have 70 resist potions for 2 of the 4 schools I'm putting into reserves.   I've also had to start collecting Black Lotus when I get a moment as I'll need to stock-pile these to at least 100.

While you can get away with AQ40 with only flasking 4 people (2 prot warriors 2 warlocks), Naxx will require EVERBODY to flask.  2 nights a week, 3/4 hours each - (assuming you log at instance and resume) you'll need 3-4 flask a week for Naxx, 5 if you are a twin emps tank.  That is up to 25,000g (current prices) just for flask for under 6 months of raiding (125 Black Lotus if you are twin emps tank).  1,000g a week for flask if you need 5 vs 4.  A lot of farming strats give around 30-50g per hour.  Take the medium of 40g per hour.  This is 25 hours a week of farming JUST for your flask.  This is well beyond the Vanilla "grind".  Back in the day, with raiding AQ40 + Naxx on the same reset, the common feel was 1 hour of farming for every two hours of raiding.  Current prices of herbs for a 4 hour raid night (400g in flask + 200g in other consumables & repairs) will need 7.5 hours of farming for every 2 hours of raiding.  A 650% increase time investment outside of raiding.

This alone will be the end of a lot of players and in turn, guilds.  Raiding will be gated by unreasonable time investments compared to 2005/6 and will be a luxury for those whom live the unemployment life, or the select few that can invest 8+ hours a day outside of their full time job to farm + raiding schedule.

A suggestion I made a long time ago as this issue was forecastable long before now; was implementing Flask vendors (price can be set by inflation vs average server cost in 2006, make them BoP and limit 5 per toon per week) or have Lotus apart of other herb loot tables. Lotus could then be adjusted to follow the 1-3 rule as with other herbs (rewarding those who find them to ensure we do not make them obsolete).   If a War-Effort can be adjusted by 1,000%+ for some items to give a "blizz-like" feeling, why can't other aspects of the game?

The majority of the community can't wrap their heads around why Zeth'Kur people that are in their established raiding guilds want to keep a low population?   Just read above.  The realizations are absolutely sickening.

Simply applying dynamic respawn to herbs would also be a nice solution. Herbing feels terrible because I go through half the zone and only find 2-3 herb nodes. And then when I go back along that path, nothing has respawned.

*does a full circle of Winterspring and finds 2 nodes*

/who Winterspring

3 Horde people (Darrowshire)...

Similar situation in other 60 zones. Very suspicious these spawn rates!

Spawn rates are due to population... so Black Lotus respawns after 30 mins with around 7000 online, maybe 25 minutes with 8000 online etc. If there was only 2000 online it would probably be 1 hour respawn.
