Ubglub 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2017 So im having a fun time leveling on vanilla and have plans to run MC, onyxia, and MAYBE BWL in the future, but im wondering just how many hours a day is that going to cost me to raid MC, im not super serious or hardcore about it cause i still have college and but i can still spare hours to raid, does anybody have an estimate of what that time sink will be?
Storfan 24 Report post Posted May 2, 2017 The average MC clearing guild will spend about 1-1.5h/week in MC. And then there's out-of-raid preparations like getting world buffs (Tribute, Ony, ZG, songflower if tryhard) which also take about 1h in total. Or you could just join one of the numerous MC pugs that run every week.
Undertanker 88 Report post Posted May 2, 2017 You'll find that once you have your 5 man instance gear ran, your play time per week is actually much lower at level 60 compared to leveling if your goal is 3/4-1 level a day. This is especially true with limited content, as you only need to invest a couple hours a week total for full consumables, maybe an hour of farming if you want to go just mid tier consumables. For just MC + Ony and farming your consumables you are looking at 3 hours a week, maybe 3.5 hours total in game time with like Storfan said world buffing and what not. Compare that to the amount of time it can take to grind a level in the 40s-50s which can be about the same depending on class. This is where "raid loggers" are born.
Hurricane2 2 Report post Posted May 2, 2017 If you have a good guild yeah it's only about 2 hours a week. If it's a new guild progressing then its much more.
Forsa 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2017 As it was already mentioned, if you will be just doing raids, your average online time might actually shrink comparing to gearing for raids. HOWEVER, You need to realise, that unlike 5-man dungeons raids require much more ppl thus they usually run on estanblished time - you can't login whenever you want and raid. In this way it's less flexible then 5mans.
Roxy 8 Report post Posted May 3, 2017 Though, also keep in mind that as more raids release, thus more time you need to spend. In vanilla, raids are still relevant even after a new tier releases. Due to a few really good items, you would still want to raid Mc and BWL even when naxx is released Mc drop thunderfury, and the more tanks who got it thus better. Bwl drop trinkets that are bis all troughout vanilla. So unless you got really lucky and your entire guild got all the items they need, you will still want to clear it.
