Anomandr 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2017 Hey guys! new here, but not new to druid. Back in TBC when I had more time to play, I raided pretty seriously. I remember vividly how fun it was for me to level my druid. As many others of you probably do, I enjoy most being able to use Caster, Bear, and Cat while leveling in order to maximize dmg and survivability. I need a build that's effective at beating up red mobs, elites of my level, as well as multiple enemies at the same time. I see the following build as effective while leveling, but due to not having 10 more talent points, it only dips into many of the talents without maxing them. http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#0zLmbZxMgsckbtVm If you understand what I'm going for, what is your advice? I'd prefer to be able to get Imp Mark of the Wild but i just don't have the points. Once again, with emphasis, this build is only for leveling purposes. Grinding and questing
TheDruidCode 28 Report post Posted July 23, 2017 I would say, if you're gonna go hybrid go more hybrid. The good stuff in my book is natures swiftness, feral charge, natural shapeshifter and omen of clarity. Omen of clarity is a real good mana saver if used wisely. I would think a standard feral spec would do you more good than the one you linked. Or try the good old 1/30/21 it's pretty awesome.
Anomandr 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2017 ah so then, something like this is what you suggest: http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#0zLVhoZxMGsZVeb0xo Looks like this build would allow me to be much more effective if I needed to heal an instance to complete some quests. Almost seems like this build just tries to do too much and ends up not getting too many of the great Feral talents like Predatory Strikes or Heart of the Wild.
TheDruidCode 28 Report post Posted July 23, 2017 Ye, you can't have it all. It's hard to get em all and make it work. Haven't tried that but could possibly work out. Grabbing OoC will set you back quite a lot of points. Going something like this maybe. Cat version. You can make it more tanky. But shifting will cost you more. http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#0zZxTMscbdLVvfo0o A do it all spec. Will let you tank, heal and dps. Would switch some points to tranquil spirit if I was planning to do serious healing.
TheDruidCode 28 Report post Posted July 23, 2017 Buuut, something like http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#0zLVhoZxGMscrdtV would probably be the best solo spec but less versatile. I wouldn't take pushback protection from balance tree points. I would take points out of feral if I wanted them.
Anomandr 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2017 Yeah that last build is more ideal. Though I prefer as even a balance between cat and bear as possible since I tend to open with cat and finish with bear. Taking the points from feral for pushback protection in resto makes leveling easier. Having NS helps tremendously, but maybe it's just not worth the points unless you skip the balance tree completely
TheDruidCode 28 Report post Posted July 23, 2017 Ye, it's pretty much a choice between Balance or NS if you want down feral tree. When I don't have NS I don't miss it too much. You got bash/heal or regrowth OoC procs. Works really well.
WobLight 5 Report post Posted July 23, 2017 I'd go for this progression:http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#0ZxxM getting movement speed at 21 http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#0zL0hZxxM then getting reduced mana cost for shapeshifting, or you will never be able to heal + shift properly http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#0zL0hZxxMZV same reason as above From here you can go for clearcasting, or go down with feral http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#0zLVhoZxxMsfbdtV lv 60 basic spec Also worth mentioning, Wolfshead Helm at 40. You. Must. Get. It.
Fladrif 14 Report post Posted July 24, 2017 I'm my opinion, your gear plays a great role in how you are going to play the hybrid class. For example, if you go full feral but favor +int +stre, you'll feel quite hybrid.

I think this http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#0zLVhoZxMGsckoZVVf or this http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#0zL0hZxMGsckoZVEf00o could be quite viable for my purposes until lvl 50+ Which brings the question of why so far everyone in this thread has chosen Feral Instinct over Thick Hide? Is Thick Hide not worth the points?

Coz it will reduce incoming physical damage by less than 10%, feral instict improve stealth which is far more useful for questing and pvp

Tamanous 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2017 In my experience the most effective hybrid builds are: Resto/bear: worth going bear talents as you skip cat. Not good leveling build however but I suppose those wanting to emulate priest leveling fun can try it. Balalace/bear: Ok never played it in vanilla but ... interesting I guess? Needs caster gear and is late game build so not for leveling unless you use Wrath gear, love drinking for mana (nelf shadowmeld drinking is safer but icky downtime) and can accept a glass cannon play. HotW build: This basically plays as pure feral to begin with and the gear you need to make viable once resto points are in is rather late game. I'm tempted to try it this go around on my new druid but only if I can get the right gear and see how hybrid cat/magic damage dps works in level 60 dungeons as I don't like healing. Healing leathers often fall into your bags as druid of any build so perhaps I'll try this time. The issue with throwing points into bear is if you take cat talents you won't use bear for leveling dps at all. You don't need bear talents for level dungeons so by the time you want them, you've already leveled.
kingvalkyrik 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2017 (edited) http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#0p0VhoZZVVc Here's my leveling build, started in balance and now I'm finishing out the resto side and then I'm not sure where I'll go... But my gear is str > int > agil > stam > spir focused, it's great against pretty much all classes in PvP so far. Just kite the melee, and melee the range. Jellydonut 2 Report post Posted September 17, 2017 Just do standard 30/21 feral/resto and get as much role specific gear as you can. Progression is 13 points to feral charge, 13 point resto (reflection), back to feral for HOTW, then back to resto for NS. Where to put the points should be pretty obvious.
nooobieee 3 Report post Posted September 18, 2017 This would be what I think is a great hybrid spec for healing and tanking. http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#0Zxxxs0RdZVxsofq
