I understand that resto is the preferred spec by pugs and was wondering if shaman was the same as other classes up to 60. For instance I heard shadow priests can heal dungeons with shadow talents. So basically my question is will I be able to heal as ele or will my mana pool be terrible? Or should I just level as resto? 0 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
GeneralKappa 1 Report post Posted August 6, 2017 I'm pretty sure no one levels in resto/holy specs. You can easily heal dungeons just by having +int gear in backpack/bank with any spec. I was healing dungeons(starting from BFD, ending by RFD by far) in enhance, and had no problem. And often i was "forced" to dps, because priests wants spot in dungeon too. :) Elemental tree is the other thing, there you just don't need to have back-up gear, and it will be as close to real healer gear as possible(but only untill gear with a lot of +heal appears). 0 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Egregious 1 Report post Posted August 8, 2017 To add to what Kappa said, even if you don't have Int gear; you can still effectively heal dungeons with the cooperation of the tank. Whenever I roll on private server, I always level Enh with a few Resto talents [mainly Improved Healing Wave] to more effectively offspec heal. If the tank doesn't try to blast through the instance chain pulling, and gives you a little extra time to drink, you will be absolutely fine doing both questing and dungeons. 0 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Or should I just level as resto? untill level 40 you will find no issues on dungeon healing. from about level 40 your gear will be more "spec oriented" so i suggest you to go ele if you wish to heal dungeons later on in the game while leveling. me myself am leveling ele and find it pretty much funny. concerning raiding i leave her to you a video example how ele shaman is endgame https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3k21jn5NGR8 0 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
