that screenshot showed a hunter named Predictable from Feenix who I can assure you that while he was an ultimate kunt as a human being never went melee as a hunter

In the thread itself it says that's in full Naxx gear from RANGE. He hopes the hunter can pull 400 dps in the best of the best gear which is never demonstrated.

Any hunter should be able to do around 600-700 DPS with full buffs in around pre-raid gear. 900+ once you get chromag + t3 gear.

Yes, punctuation is important...... I clearly said the guy pulled 900+ dps in full naxx gear. However, the poster hopes that in melee the hunter can pull at least 400 dps....

we need a video pr legacy log proof of a melee hunter, or this is speculation for nothing.

Only time I ever saw a melee hunter do near 1k melee DPS was when Feenix bugged +spell weapons and a hunter went melee and used spell damage gear and just spammed wing clip to proc the spell damage. Other than that, it's not possible.

As was previously stated before the thread got derailed, you probably won't have a hard time getting into groups as DPS until you start farming pre-BiS. However, an issue that you probably *will* run into is that you get into a group as DPS, and then your group winds up unable to find heals, so you get stuck doing it anyway.  That being said, it's a good idea to try to keep a decent healing set on the side.
