Suggestion : Nostalrius&Elysium Character Appearance/Gender Change.

Heya guys,

 

Many of us have rolled a class and race we loved to play altho after a certain time many come to the realization that the appearance or gender of the race is not what they wished after all. 

I was wondering if when logging on for the first time on the newly implemented server a ONE TIME DEAL ONLY character appearance/gender customization is possible to implement, I'm not familiar in any way if such a thing is possible and I was only speculating 

 

to clear things up I'm in no way or form suggesting a payable option for this or anything else of customization would be implemented because that is a big no no! it would simply be a one time deal

my interest is would many of u also like a chance to change your appearance if the possibility was given?

I can see appearance or gender changes happening sometimes, but identity was a major part of vanilla for me. Giving someone the ability to change their name is giving them a whole new personality, Vanilla was the day that there were server-famous tanks and pvpers whos names would make you shudder at the thought. I think its important to keep this identity.

Only thing I wish one day might happen, is to set free some stored nicknames, to rename those low level players which clearly quit the server long time ago, I don't know what you think but since the server is so popular, it's hard to find an available nickname anymore and those ugly-deformed names start appearing (like xxxNamexxx or people are forced to use some weird letters).

Yes. There are easily a hundred trillion names you can possibly create, and I promise you a good chunk of them are legible.

Maybe you guys can have a window where you can flag a character for a name change by contacting a GM? I realise this is extra stress on the staff but if you had it run for a week for example it might be an idea. My understanding is that after Nost many people re-rolled elsewhere and are now moving back to a server where people might not know them by an old name. It's a valid issue although i don't really think the staff we see it as pressing enough given they have their plates full. I think it would be easy enough to manage though. Send a ticket in game and have it flagged as inappropriate.

You are a little fud. I've actually read a bunch of your posts and you seem like a toxic waster. It's pretty obviously not going to happen, i never brought it up. People are allowed to make suggestions you know. If the guy fancies it hes entitled to do so. Why don't you just leave the suggestions sub forum and stop trolling basically?

        One of the things I find most appealing about the reawakening of Nostalrius is seeing players the same way I saw them before the shutdown. It's Vanilla. If you don't like your character for any reason, roll a new one!

It really is nost 2.0. there were surely about 50 suggestions to cap respecc costs at 5g and lower costs for mounts and countless other things in the beginning. It eventually got better after like a year.

I understand that most people that got their attention caugth in the latest nostalrius PR never played retail vanilla or another private server before, but arent you eager to actually play vanilla now ir do you want legion with vanilla content?

There's people that have spent the last 8 months in guilds on other servers going about calling each other "bob" cause their raiding toons are called bob on the new realms and they have made new friends, they are coming back to characters that are not called "bob" etc and are still going to be playing with these people which is not ideal is it?

 

It won't change but for all the mongoloids saying this isn't a valid suggestion it's time for a reality check. This doesn't effect me in anyway btw and in time people will just learn to call their guildies by their 'new' names however weird that might be but it might suck massive balls if you RP.

 

Also changing a characters name is not un-blizzlike. Names got flagged for change all the time in vanilla for a variety if reasons. Comparing changing the name of your main to swapping items in game for other items is ridiculous and you should be ashamed of yourself.

Just because your name is taken on any other server doesn't mean you should be allowed to change your identity on Nostalrius. Nostalrius should not be altered in any way whatsoever, nor should transfers ever be allowed.

 

  I am a die-hard Nostalrius player. It's apparent that you are not. As I've said before, the beauty of Nostalrius is the nostalgic set-in-stone feeling EXACTLY how the game was originally intended. It is what it is. If you can't comprehend how ridiculous the idea of name changes on Nostalrius is, then maybe you shouldn't play there.

 

P.S. It's a PvP server. Not an RP server. We're there to immerse and kill, not lollygag. To each their own, but still, if you want to RP I suggest you look into Dungeons and Dragon or another Vanilla server.

And now Bob calls himself steve, and tells his friend mario who is still called mario that the old bob is now steve because another person called his toon bob which is his right because first come first serve and everyone should have the possibility to name his toon Bob. If steve cant find mario, he can always check on his old toon bob to see if mario is online or hit up mario on skype/discord/forums.

Do you try hard to embarass yourself or did that happen by accident? Just a question at the side.
