default texture

changing width does nothing, moving by 1px does nothing

fresh dl, but why does your background texture have a tiny shadow but mine doesnt?

After playing around a bit more i can say your are more likely to run into this problem the smaller you set the scale. So if you turned the scale in the graphics options all the way down and use a scale near 1 in Luna you have these problems. Just play around a bit more with scale and width.

Hi, Aviana, thank you for everything you've done for vanilla wow !

When i use the LunaUnitFrames 2.10/2.11 while using a ace2 lib package which is named as !!!Libs (AIO Library Package) can cause 2 errors :

AddOns\LunaUnitFrames\libs\HealComm-1.0\HealComm-1.0.lua:950: table index is nil

AddOns\LunaUnitFrames\modules\units.lua:49: attempt to index field `units' (a nil value)

These 2 errors only appear on zh-CN client

if i disable !!!Libs on zh-CN client, the LunaUnitFrames 2.10/2.11 will work perfect

I have tested these 2 addons on en-US & en-GB client, these 2 errors will not appear

Remove the Libs package. It serves no purpose as the things in it are already included with the addons themselves. Also i don't provide support for zhCN. Its provided as is by someone who submitted the translation to me. I have no way of making sure it works.

Hi all, I have a few questions about LunaUnitFrames.  I never played on Nostalrius so the first time I used LunaUF was on the Elysium server in October & November only, so consider me a complete beginner.  I will admit that Luna seemed very overwhelming due to its hundreds (thousands?) of customizations, so I ended up using the raid window only and Blizzard UI for everything else.  For example, by default the player window health bar is not green, and the font is smaller, so I actually died more than once because it wasn't obvious to me that I was that low on health.

Screenshot image: http://imgur.com/a/Rcl1U

1) Has anyone created a tutorial, guide, or video on getting started with LunaUnitFrames and can point me to it?

2) Does LunaUF Player/Target/ToT/ToToT always look badly overlapped on a fresh install (so a beginner must always do /luna config and move them)?  See image where it says "Luna - New Install".   My resolution is 1366x768 because I play on a laptop screen.

3) Is there a way to increase the font size without Scaling?  The only solution I found was to change the Font in General from Luna to DorisPP

4) Is there a way to increase the font size in /luna menu?  The [?] button brings up Tag Listing, but it's incredibly small that I can't read it (see image where it says "Luna - After Configuring"

As a basic exercise, I tried to make the Player, Target, and ToT windows look more similar to the Blizzard UI, for familiarity's sake.  Here are the steps I did, but the Target window Mobhealth3 info is all squished next to the enemy portrait, and the ToT window is still too big.  Anyone have any tips?

/luna menu
General - Change Font to DorisPP
Blizzard Frames - Check Cast Bar
Player - Change Width to 200
Health Bar - Change Color type to None
Target - Change Width to 200
ToT - Change Width to
Health Bar - Change Color type to None
ToToT - uncheck Enable
Config Mode - Drag Target window to right, Drag ToT window underneath

Thank you,

You can open the issue for chinese translation on the github page https://github.com/zerosnake0/LunaUnitFrames. But anyway I think the !!!Libs is no longer needed, if you find any addon that does not work without !!!Libs, you can contact me

Rhena would you ever consider putting in the work to unlock individual frame elements, similar to how discord unit frames is? Atm i am using both your unit frames and Discord to achieve this:

i61y8jR.jpg

Like the energy bar i have is actually my player frame and im using discord for my own player and luna for the target. It's prob not something that can add value for lots of players right enough but i think it would be good for rage/energy users for sure.

No. LunaUF is not a Discord replacement. The same way it was never meant to be a GRID, X-Perl etc. The closest it could be a copy of is ShadowedUnitFrames (my own personal favorite). But its not meant to be a 100% copy of that either since its more tailored towards the vanilla expirience. I am really happy for all you people who manage to modify it so heavily to your own liking but i am sorry to say you are on your own at some point. I am not going to cater to every single wish for a feature or aim towards a complexity like discord.

Jaseve:

1) Not that i know of. I might make a Youtube tutorial in the future but at the moment i am more busy with working on the addon itself.

2) This depends on what you set up for the ui scale in the graphics options. The defaults are made to fit with the minimum scale since most people are going to use at least 1080p resolution at which point a low scale gives more room to see stuff but still provides big enough elements (minimap etc). I am afraid you have to move the frames yourself at this point (uugh so much work right?). However i will look into improving the default expirience in the future.

3) In the Tags section of each section are sliders to adjust font size. However i recommend using them only to adjust size in relation to overall frame size and then increasing the overall frame scale.

4) Again it is difficult for me to strike a balance for me between low resolution users like you and people with a wall of 4K monitors. I set it the way it is because at some combinations of scale and resolution some elements would lose their description or completly disappear. As a temporary solution you could edit /modules/options.lua and in the very last line set

LunaOptionsFrame:SetScale(0.8)

to a higher value.

Thanks, I spent some time with Luna today and have made some progress.

1) Not that i know of. I might make a Youtube tutorial in the future but at the moment i am more busy with working on the addon itself.

Good news.  I found the Wiki at https://github.com/Aviana/LunaUnitFrames/wiki and it has a bit more info than the original post here (including a list of tags!)  It would be very nice to link it in the original post.

Also, Jace Deathbane uploaded a nice 26:39 video today featuring Luna Unit Frames.  I personally learned quite a bit from it.  I think it will help other beginners too.  Maybe he could fix the download link though so users will get the latest release.

3) In the Tags section of each section are sliders to adjust font size. However i recommend using them only to adjust size in relation to overall frame size and then increasing the overall frame scale.

I figured this out after playing with everything for about an hour. I think the issue is the sliders simply say 'Size: 10' but don't indicate that it's a Font Size or Bar Size.  I thought it was the Bar Size, until later I realized there is a Health bar section and the Font size is under Tags.  I found that I like font size 14.

4) As a temporary solution you could edit /modules/options.lua and in the very last line setLunaOptionsFrame:SetScale(0.8) to a higher value.

Yes! I cranked this up to 1.2 and now the menu is HUGE , like almost my whole screen, but now I can read the Tag listing fine.  Now that I know about the wiki though, I will reduce this to 1.0 and just refer to the tag listing on the wiki.

Download link has been fixed to Rhena's Github so that should be fixed :)

For the /lunamo, I did a lot of testing and was only able to get it to work through the in game Macro system so that is how I showed how to do it in my guide. Is that the way you meant for it to be used Rhena? If not then would you be willing to show me how you intended /lunamo to be used so I could update the information in my guide? :)

Here is my feedback to your video:

2:40 broken tooltips: They are not broken. Remember this is a unitframe addon so only tooltips when you mouse over a unitframe are meant to be affected.

4:30 Angel thing: It shows when someone is casting a resurrection on that unit or the unit has a revive pending that has to be accepted. This requires the healer to have it too to show your res.

5:30 status: It shows crossed swords when the unit is in combat and when you are in a place that allows resting when logged off it shows the "ZZ" bubble.

5:55: It does not only show masterlooter but also when group loot is on it will show who is able to loot the next killed mob.

6:00 You could mention that the readycheck requires / is for CTRAID/ORA2 readychecks. It does show those even without those installed but you would have to have them to participate. (The readycheck in 2.08 is a placeholder and does not work you need the most recent version)

8:53 It means that the bar will be colored depending on the units reaction to you when the unit is the type you selected from the dropdown.

10:27 The size slider is for how much it will go over the border of the frame.

12:07 That is for the size of the text not for the bar size.

13:40 You could explain the bar widget a bit more since you can move the bars not only up and down but also to the right. Thats used for vertical bars on the right of the frame. (Remember to also turn the bars growth to vertical)

14:12 The XP bar also shows tracked reputation.

17:24 Sorting by group just means it uses blizzards sorting which is not alphabetical. It has nothing to do with raids.

19:36 This will show colored squares instead if the buff/debuff texture for the things you decide to track. Thats why there are color boxes on the right of the text field.

As for the /lunamo command: You can just use

/lunamo Healing Touch

but the bars will not show the spell status like when you don't have the mana for it. This is fixed by the first part

/script if nil then CastSpellByName("Healing Touch") end

At least bartender recognizes the CastSpellByName and shows the mana status.

Also you could cover all the new things that have been added since 2.08 (the one you reviewed) and the profile options (look into the faq on the first page for some help on that).

As a little secret: Luna does share your version number with everyone you come across and will display it in the options menu when it has seen a more recent one than you have.

Otherwise a nice video, i like it.

Hello Rhena, Pottu redirected me to this thread due to my problem.

I have an issue with the casting bars of Luna (Both Player and Target frames), basically when there is a cast going on, the bar is like "laggy", like there is an FPS drop.

My bars used to be smooth,  I have between 200 and 300 FPS and the cast bar was the same.. really smooth, but now it seems that my cast bars are going at like 20 FPS or something.

Here is 2 videos:

The one with smooth cast bars:

The one with laggy cast bars..

Howdy,

Back on Nost I used the click casting feature that Luna provides. Since then I've changed to mouse-over.

On Elysium i'm planning to use a combination of the two, which brings me to my question:
Macro-wise, how does Luna work with mouse-over macros? Can I use a standard mouse-over macro, or does Luna require something more spesific?

Also, on TBC i used Grid and I was able to macro it so that I could change between a raid group layout of 10 - 20 - 40 etc by the click of a button.
This macro would change the height and width of the raid frames to perfectly fit within my 'raid-frames-art-window' regardless of raidgrp size.
Does Luna have a simmilar option? Would a macro like this work?:
For 40man raids:  /luna raidframes 40.. /luna raidframes height 13.. /luna raidframes width 18
For 20 man raids: /luna raidframes 20.. /luna raidframes height 13.. /luna raidframes width 36

Cheers

...

Do you mind if I go into photoshop and make a custom skin for your frames? Of course, I would give you the skin and will never link it to anyone. I just want something to do, want to put my touch on your amazing frames and why just do it for me?
