Tessel 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2016 Hey community and developers, As a former player of both retail vanilla wow and the former nostalrius realms I am really excited for our all time favorite private servers to come back soon. Because I am a rather progress oriented player and I never played on the horde side before, which I plan on doing on the new fresh start realm once it launches, I thought to test out the start zones durotar and barrens on the private server kronos. I noticed that even though there is an abundance of quests that most of them are "kill mob x and gather item y of mob x" type of quests with rather low drop chances for most of them and 5 minute re-spawn timers for named mobs required for quests. I know that this is part of the original vanilla experience, but I found myself having to clear the complete area of mobs and waiting for them to re-spawn again(which takes a while) to get the collecting quests done even though I was the only guy there doing the quests. Now how would this play out with 5000 orcs and trolls toppling over each other to get these items at the same time? So my input would be that the development team would take measures to increase the spawnrate of mobs in the lvl 1-20 starting areas(if something like this is possible) to allow the population to quest more effectively and remove this feature during weekly maintenance a week later once the levels of the server population has fanned out a bit. P.S. I really want to express my gratitude to the committed developers and the devoted community making a return of this server possible!

Banezilla 2 Report post Posted November 22, 2016 This is already adressed by a staff member stop making threads it aint happening. Where was this addressed? They have a dynamic spawn system enabled, but it's tuned too low for the starting areas or not working for some quests. The spawns below level 10 should be increased a bit.
Tessel 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2016 This is already adressed by a staff member stop making threads it aint happening. I did not know of a previous thread where this was already addressed, but I must confess I did not go through a lot of research before making this. I just know that many people think the same so I figured why not throw the idea into the room. Would you mind linking the thread you mentioned so I can look into that matter? Id like to know whether this problem is at all addressed or not and how. Thanks for reply in advance!
Destron 2 Report post Posted November 24, 2016 We need to wait for this stuff to be live before we judge. They could very well be considering adjusting the spawn rates.

The system was live last Sunday and will be live again this coming Sunday. Judge for yourself!
Shayss 43 Report post Posted November 25, 2016 (edited) The system was live last Sunday and will be live again this coming Sunday. Judge for yourself! The system was live under fresh release conditions. It was already stated, if it wasn't apparently obvious, that it was difficult to quest due to the amount of players. This is because everyone will be in the starting zones. This is to be expected and it is fine. It will be alright again in a week or two when the playerbase is more spread out across azeroth. Nirraven 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2016 Why not just tune the dynamic system a bit in the starting zone for the first 2 weeks or so?
Lootolf 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2016 Probably not worth the effort? Dunno. Tho i do get the sentiment, that a tuned spawn system for release would not feel "vanilla" and blizzlike. I mean .. desperately forming a group, tabbing, and running around like a complete maniac just to get the next mob. There are hilarious conversations to be had over the corpses of a dozen grells and their ever dwindling population. Yes, that is time consuming, can be frustrating and hinders those who want to progress as fast as possible, but its "pure". And i kinda wanna roll with it like that.
Nirraven 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2016 About ~7000 players in the starting zone isn't blizzlike too, so we should cap it lower? I don't think so, but a tuned spawnsystem could be more blizzlike in relation to the players.

Why not make our release experience a little more enjoyable?
Undertanker 88 Report post Posted November 28, 2016 Having 7k+ in the starting zones is not Blizzlike. Why not make our release experience a little more enjoyable? You can't cherry pick what you want "blizzlike". Every Tuesday blizzard would have the server down for 6-10 hours with their weekly maintenance, should we implement this excessive downtime as well?
Mpire 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2016 You can't cherry pick what you want "blizzlike". Every Tuesday blizzard would have the server down for 6-10 hours with their weekly maintenance, should we implement this excessive downtime as well? Good point. I can't remember, did Nostalrius have a increased spawn rate at the beginning? There was lots of competition, but I remember it being manageable. Having any sort of 2k cap like they did in vanilla would be a horrific idea, to manage the 7k+ a small tune could be a good idea, but either way get past 10 and you'll be fine.
Undertanker 88 Report post Posted November 29, 2016 I do not believe there was one at the start, if it was, it was small. They increased it more noticeably later. Even past level 10 though spawn rates will still be an issue because everybody going for the same kill/collect quest. Just grind in the corner of a map somewhere and you won't have this problem
Destron 2 Report post Posted November 29, 2016 After playing on some other servers in anticipation for these realms opening I'm finding that grinding mobs isn't all that bad and is pretty good exp.
Pottu 290 Report post Posted November 29, 2016 did Nostalrius have a increased spawn rate at the beginning? No, it didn't. Somehow we survived a 3k launch and a 4k peak by end of first week without it.
