Drain 19 Report post Posted November 28, 2016 Heh, one thing I did on Nost for a little while was buy silk, turn it into bandages, then vendor it. It was literally a profit, as morons were undercutting the vendor price. This was how I paid for my first mount. There were other things I'd sometimes buyout, then promptly vendor, but cloth is always the easiest target. You simply look at how much bandages go for, then compare it to the stacks of cloth. Any day, you could find auctions undercutting the vendor, meaning an instant profit simply for buying it, crafting bandaging, then vendoring it. Eventually, I gave it up and let other people have this little market. "Is farming Stonescale eel and Deviate Fish still good money?" The deviate recipe and fish are worth good money on Alliance, but less than dirt on Horde. Smart Horde sell them on the neutral towns, as Alliance will pay more than Horde cities. But those same Alliance are probably reselling them for even more in their own cities. I'd suggest trying to get the recipe, then just going to the Barrens to fish your own. Once you have a mount, the travel time to ponds isn't much concern anymore, and at 40+, low levels won't bother you. Players in the barrens are typically 10-25, who happily attack low level Alliance, but not skull cons in the 40s.

Shaylin 6 Report post Posted November 28, 2016 You are not allowed in "Farm Club". Somebody grab a rubber band. Hand me a knife. First rule of Farm Club haha... As everyone has said, the basics are being frugal with money, pick up gather professions, and utilize your abilities. However, the best way to make gold will always be AH manipulation. When you get the hang of this, everything else is a waste of time. When it comes to this avenue, we are working with a living economy so you have to find your vein and run it. The best gold making techniques will never be given out as they lose their value if others use them. I agree, you have to be good with numbers and find a way to keep track of everything. I'm not any good at it, but if you can follow and keep up with the market you would be pretty set on any income needed.
BestPristKR 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2016 Hi, played vanilla back in the day and so excited to join the community and relive the good ol' days. But starting fresh means zero gold, especially remembering the cost of mounts and other things. So does anyone have tips, guides, or just general insight on how to make gold without becoming a farmer and spending more time actually enjoying the game? Thanks! Well basicly the more dedicated you are the more rewards you will get , it wouldn't hurt to research what is valuable and trends on vanilla realms when it comes to the AH .

Undertanker 88 Report post Posted November 29, 2016 Pro tip to any 60 needing gold. Stop AFKing and tile jumping in main cities and go kill something. /thread
gotmilk0112 10 Report post Posted November 29, 2016 Go Herb/Alch, or for max cash, Herb/Skin. Herbalism starts off slow, but once you get to Mageroyal/Briarthorn/Bruiseweed, you can start getting Swiftthistle which will sell decently because it's used by level 60s to make Swiftness potions. A single Swiftthistle will sell for anywhere between 50s and 1g, so you can make some good starting gold for yourself. Skinning is also pretty straight forward. You won't really make any money from it until you get to Medium/Heavy leather though, but even vendoring it, that's still extra gold that you wouldn't have gotten otherwise.
gotmilk0112 10 Report post Posted November 29, 2016 @gotmilk second rule of farm club.... Game is 12 years old. There are no "super secret farming spots" anymore. And this was on Nost, mind you. Even with its high population, I was the only one there killing jaguars. 7k online and I was the only one at that spot.

Undertanker 88 Report post Posted November 29, 2016 (edited) I like how half the people will go for herb/alchi (including me) ending up poor as вау because every single herb will be overfarmed and we will get NOTHING Don't leave the newbie zone until you can farm the higher level herbs in the next zone and it is smooth sailing from there, as a lot of people will move on to next zone to get away from the masses of people and can only herb the low level stuff, much of the higher level nodes go untouched. Might take a couple extra hours, but is well worth it. Resources will always be competition though, that is why they are in demand on the AH. Faith 5 Report post Posted November 29, 2016 from 38-40 grind only beast type mobs and sell their gray items and you will have enough money to get a mount, basilisk type mobs are the best for this on average you get 10-15 silver per kill This is actually very correct. Basilisks even turtles. Things that have scales and that you can skin will be an easy way to make money. Also beasts usually drop meat so you can cook that as well. So find mobs where you can get silver off the gray scales.. skin them for leather and cook the meat they drop. Basilisks , Raptors, even spiders can be good. White spider meat sells pretty well and the silk spiders drop is also very useful.
