will migrations be allowed for the new servers?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'd like to know if migrations will be available for the new server. I just couldn't wait and started in another blizzlike server (not sure if posting the name is allowed), so I'm just curious if I would be able to continue to play my char here in the new servers once they open.

I'm lvl 17 atm and by the time the new servers open I may be 25-30. I have no problem giving access to the gm in charge to verify lvl, items and what not.

I really want to play here, but I fear the first week(s) will be impossible to lvl up... So if I may get my char here it would be great. (I also wouldn't mind if it were in the old nost servers)

Longing to play here!

If migrations won't be allowed then how are we suposed to play? Everyone in the starting areas killing 1 mob every 5 minutes if lucky...

How are this kind of situations handled? If handled at all?

First days/weeks might be rough but it will even itself out. These things happen on online game launches..

Yep it's gonna be chaos, there will be a lot of competition.

NPC spawns should generally be OK, as they have implemented dynamic respawn rates (i.e. the more people playing in an area, they faster the mobs will respawn) so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Physical item spawns though, hahaha. Have fun waiting for 2 hours to use one  quest object.

And no, server migration is not allowed.... this is vanilla not retail, you can't just buy your way out of every problem you face.

Either play and endure it, or wait a few days and it smooths out a bit. Or as a third option, try playing during euro time. It's usually a bit less populated then. Not dead, but less.

Wait a few days or level to 5 and start fishing or something. It's a fresh server, if people would be able to migrate their characters over, it destoys the aspect of a fresh start.

If you played on Nostalrius PvP/PvE before it's shutdown, you can transfer them over to here for the same servers (no fresh ones). Details are on the Elysium homepage. I don't think accounts from other servers can be transfered.

I always wonder how some humans survive IRL with such low IQ.

Oh... excuse me, Mr Obvious, for not being high IQ like you.

This is what i wanted to know, thanks. I would appreciate if they make the respawn times for objects faster.

Less populated in European times? Wasn't Nostalrius mostly European players, not American?

Not sure. All I know is that on the rear occasion I was on early mornings on the east coast, it was less populated. By at least a couple thousand. Maybe that changed really late in the game, but that's what I remember.

Early morning eastern time would still only be afternoon EU not evenings :)  so yeah not too busy.

I agree though, EU day time was quite nice, not too busy.

And that is a lot of the fun of "fresh" servers.  I've seen a lot of discussion on end-game-progression and the delays of reaching that on fresh servers, but the "magic" to me are those first three months of craziness.  Then the freshness wears off.

Therefore, I'll continue to level up on Nost PvP as alliance - and level up on Elysium PvP as horde - so I can have the best of both worlds.

Fresh servers are great, but the freshness only lasts a few months - then it's just another server.  :)
