To Whom it May Concern,

 

I'm posting this so everyone can see.

 

These are some of the reasons that woke me up:

1. They refuse to restore missing characters that were wrongfully purged. Some people didn't get the chance to level those characters because they were busy with other characters and/or have busy lives.   Some accounts were active up until the last day. I would understand them purging these characters from inactive accounts, but that wasn't the case with the active accounts. They decided to be fools and purge  characters on some of the unfortunate accounts. Not a great decision at all. Very popular and unique names have been lost due to this too. No, I don't condone name squatting, but not everyone that has had their character purged from their accounts is a name squatter.

2. Launch day was a huge fail. There were too many technical issues and they had to delay the launch. Sure, launch days are not perfect, but some of these issues could have been dealt with sooner. Possibly prevented, too.

3.  I was going to not return to play my old characters at all in the first place because Nost/Elysium were rebelling against Blizzard by relaunching these servers. Yes, Blizzard should have showed common courtesy and should have kept in touch with Nost, but that doesn't give Nost/Elysium the right to relaunch the servers.  It's only been a couple of months since the first shutdown crying out loud!  Two wrongs don't make a right and this is the case. What a way to make us legacy server fans and your supporters look bad and spoiled.
     

 Unfortunately I had decided this past week  to give them another chance, but that was a big mistake. I wish I hadn't. If I knew how much of a clusterf--k this whole project is now I would have been spared the nonsense. I should've trusted my instincts before. I shouldn't have looked back. I should have moved on in the right direction and left the private server community for good.

4. They've lost my respect and my support because of the damning crap I've witnessed the past couple of months.  What I've experienced and witnessed the past 28 hours was the last straw, too.

 

5. Other personal reasons. Enough said.

 

 

These reasons are blessings in disguise to me.. These reasons are motivating me to focus on more important things in life and to continue my mission/purpose in life.  Sure, it was a bittersweet experience, but this experience served its purpose. I woke up from this. Hopefully someday some of you will wake up as well.

P.S. You can't have my gold and stuff. My abandoned old accounts are testaments to the fools that are running this project and to Nost.

Don't be mindless parrots repeating the same insults you've heard and read all over the internet. I can't please everyone.  I won't be returning to the forums and site though. I refuse to play verbal ping-pong. I'm too over that and it's not worth my time. Good riddance!

Looks like standard reasons for leaving a private server project
Was i supposed to feel anything here? Or react in a certain way? Or was you venting the sole reason behind this thread?

OP is there anything you could include in your post about maybe some of the things that if they were fixed, or what the Nost Team could have done to make it a smoother experience for you? There is no point in your spam of a post if you do not provide any details to which can help your case. At least provide suggestions to help fix the issues you encountered, otherwise this post is a wasted topic in the general forum.

I find it interesting how people need to share their "reasons" for leaving a project like this.

 

Like..

 

a. You leaving, doesn't impact me whatsoever. Or Nolstarius/Elysium... because they are actually doing something for the community's benefit, not to line their pockets.

 

b. What were you hoping to actually achieve by posting something like this? (I guess we are talking about it... so maybe that's a win)

 

c. In what realm would there be a launch that had no issues? I woke up 2.30am in the morning just for launch, persisted for 45 minutes when it was

experiencing issues, then I laid down to *try* and sleep but the hype was overwhelming. But at 4am I was up and... well playing for the whole day (lol).

 

    c.1.1 - Huge fail? I think the level of dramatic flair with this comment was a *tad* excessive. They fixed those issues within the same day (well for me day time xD) I know there were more issues with the PvP server. But such is life dude. I know for the PvE server, once it had been up and running for 5-6 hours, the queue didn't take that long to get through. 

 

c 1.2 - Really? Huge Fail? These guys don't even get paid for doing what they do so... what the... Uggggghh

 

d. The fact that they tried to keep majority of characters/accounts from another Organisation/Company/Whatever I find admirable. It could have been that everyone to start from Level 1. 

 

Kind of unrelated - but I had a great time playing yesterday. It has been years since I have actually sat and played a game for more than an hour straight. It took me AGES to get to level 10 on my druid but I don't even care haha. I was just filled with happiness and I'm looking forward to playing tonight. I was absolutely blown away by the number of newbie toons in the starting zone. That was so cool.

Very aptly named thread OP, it was so long I didn't finish reading your blog entry. Can someone post some cliff notes unless it is just the usual delusional rant where some affected twit thinks the world will miss him for leaving for completely irrational reasons.
