Tekdrake 2 Report post Posted January 15, 2017 (edited) This is pretty much the only reason I play. I don't care about end-game. I don't care about Vanilla. I love leveling characters in a living world. I love seeing hundreds of other players in every zone I quest in, doing the same quests. With Nost Core gone, are we going back to 6k pop-cap? Because that's a killer for me. I'd rather play Retail at that point. Edited January 15, 2017 by Tekdrake
Arccai 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2017 (edited) If i understood this correctly, they'll be using the core for several weeks untill anathema is completed, and between the two, we wouldn't see any difference. Except the quality, it would improve quite a bit. So to answer your question, it would rather lose the population due to the wipe and not the core swap. I'm also hunting for that answer. TheDruidCode 28 Report post Posted January 15, 2017 Agree that it's the amount of ppl that made nost awesome. They say it will be the same if not better. So we hope it will be so. We'll just have to wait and see.
Sange13 9 Report post Posted January 15, 2017 I'd rather have the servers at normal populations. The overcrowding slows leveling to a crawl because you have 12 people fighting over a 3 minute spawn. I like a full world as much as the next guy, but too full is a problem.
Crowley 8 Report post Posted January 15, 2017 It was never really the Nost core in the first place. I think people are slowly and realizing this now. As long as Elysium keeps the servers up and the communication going I have faith that the servers will have plenty of players on them.
Arccai 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2017 (edited) If looking at all this from another point of view. Blizzard = The Fishing Pole Nost = The Hook Ely = The Smart Fish that ignored the bait Edited January 15, 2017 by Arccai

Velgana 1 Report post Posted January 15, 2017 If the only reason you play on Elysium is seeing a zillion players then I'm sure you will find a new home very soon, retail awaits! Even if population dropped by a bit (although I believe it won't), it will still feel like "a living world". Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

By what standard does it feel like a living world when there's ~50 players in every zone on average?

Just my opinion, but 15-20 people in a zone feels pretty lively. 60+ is just uncomfortable.

Wow, 15 players in an entire zone is what you want? Fair enough I guess... maybe makes it more realistic, not bumping into other adventurers all the time. I guess that would make meeting people more special? Edited January 15, 2017 by arbet
Sange13 9 Report post Posted January 15, 2017 You make that sound like it's not a lot, but that's close to what retail was at the time.
