Current state of Hunter bugs/issues?

Was wondering what some of the worse Hunter bugs are currently? I've heard FD/Trap only works sometimes, pets run away randomly and some talents aren't working correctly.

 

Have any of those been confirmed by multiple players, or are there any others that have?

I haven't had any pets run away on me, but I can confirm that FD/trap only works sometimes, and not because FD is resisted. FD is broken, it works 100% of the time, which is great for your repair bill, but sometimes your trap just won't go off for some reason. Since I'm fresh back from another vanilla server, I kinda forgot the reason and haven't had the chance to test it yet :p

The only bug with talents I know of at this time is that Entrapment procs while other units are standing in your Frost Trap. If I'm not mistaken, it's meant to be that it triggers after the trap has sprung, not during its effect. However, this is quite fair, because if the Horde can just hop right up the back cliff of Alterac Valley without breaking the rules, then the bridge and choke point near the backdoor should be easier to lock down.

There's also a bug where your Auto Shot will stop forever until you spazz out a bit. Just trigger your Auto Attack with Raptor Strike or something and then go right back into Auto Shot, and that should fix it. It usually happens while your Auto Shot is on and you get stunned.

Eh yeah the FD / Trap bug is my biggest concern. There were SOOOO many times on Nost 1.0 where that would happen to me. I'd FD / Trap macro and I would FD just fine but the trap would never be laid. It only seemed to work 50% of the time. I always just blamed it on the lag because at the time Nost was insanely lagy with heavyyyy delay.

I then went to Kronos and although I had higher ping, I never once had a problem with FD/Trapping. Now that I am rolling a new character on the fresh server I'm a bit hesitant to do Hunter because not being able to FD/Freeze trap reliably in PvP is pretty game breaking to the class considering as Hunters that is 1 of the only few ways we have to deal with melee or 1v2 situations.

If it's the same as it was on Nost, I think I'll go with a different class tbh. Thanks for the response and confirming that

From lvling on elysium and thinking about it more, it seems the FD/trap bug happens when the server is lagging internally, as in when around 10k+ people are online it starts to lag and bug out FD. with around 8-9k ppl it had no delay and didn't fail once for me at least. Also in dungeons it usually has no delay since instances are seperate from the world instance. That's what I have gathered so far from lvling to 40 and testing it out a lot.

Is Spirit Bond working? It also should work even in combat but after watching my pet's HP I don't think it does. Can anyone confirm it?

Back on Nost the FD/Trap bug for me was happening because when you feign death your pet continues attacking, which puts you in combat. This is still a bug.

I have a FD macro that puts pet on passive and follow. This has solved all FD/Trap issues for me.

Could you please tell me your macro, i am using Raziya's which only seems to be working if you're targeting the trap target, otherwise pet will continue to keep you in  combat.

 

Is Bestial Swiftness working for anyone? I haven't tried respeccing, but i didn't seem to notice a difference when i got lvl 20, and 30% speed increase should be noticeable.

 

Also unless they fixed that, Eyes of the Beat seems to DC you most of the time, i haven't used it since last year tho.

Pet commands seem to have a delay, needs testing but i have a suspition that attack/follow/stay commands are affected by the pet´s GCD and don´t register when pressed while the pet´s GCD is triggered.

I just tried to tame the Surf Crawler as part of the quest you get at level 10, had a few attempts but every time i got a message after the timer ran out that the beast was tagged or something of that nature. It ended with the tamingrod being out of charges(!) and i gotta abandon quest, leg it all the way back up to Razor Hill, obtain the quest again and run back down again - while i pray it will work this time! :(

Is this a known problem and is there a workaround? Any help would be very much appreciated!

EDIT: I found a way to "work around" this bug, when i started to tame the Surf Crawler i immediately interrupted the process and I got quest completed and could happily run back to Razor Hill and turn it in! :)

Now Im having issues trying to tame my first real pet, im level10 and have visited the trainer but no beast wants to be my friend! The timer just runs out when im taming and the mob is still attacking me, Ive tried beasts ranging from lvl6 to 11 - no luck so far..

I have a feeling that Improved mend pet doesn't work. I tried it yesterday, my pet had some magic debuff on him reducing his armor, i tried mending him over 10 times and it just didn't go away.

Yeah, this bug would happen on old nost. Died in PvP so many times because FD->Trap didn't work; FD went off but trap didn't.

Was such a big fix!

They still return to hunter if CC effect is applied after attack command. Seen it today in zg so i dunno what you're talking about O_o. Anyway I feel its not blizzlike "fix", I sucks that your pets can't attack volley wyrmkin after vael because its being chain sleeped to cancel the volley cast. When it comes to fd/trap macro there are multiple things that may happen. 1) FD is resisted and u're still in combat, 2) Trap is resisted 3) FD is not resisted but u're pulled into combat before you use trap aka hit button again, especially likely to happen vs warrior that knows the deal and times his whirlwind exactly when you fd.

It literally said "Magic" in debuff description (it was some acid in thousand needles), so either the description is wrong or the talent itself. I respecced out of it so I didn't try it on any other debuffs.
