How long are your levels taking?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering how long people's levels are taking.

I'm currently around 30 and each level is taking me a bit over 3 hours but i'm not a fast leveler. Just wondering how other people's experience is going.

Very varied. On some levels I get so distracted by World PvP or just focuse on other things like professions, collecting flight points or the Shaman class quests. That I'm taking several hours on that level. Other levels just fly by, due to just doing questing. :)

I don't think a guide is really that useful in a server like this, besides orienting you on which zone to level at. Right now if you're 20-40 you're gonna face overcrowded, contested zones. Shit's like The Walking Dead; not only you have to worry about enemies, but also people from your own faction. It's absolutely normal to level at a slower pace if you're questing.

Varied pending on if I have a bunch of stuff lined up close or running around doing oddball stuff. I often get side tracked find myself just looking and remembering how the game used to be and how much it really has changed. As long as you aren't going for any "world firsts" then just go at whatever pace you want and take it all in.

This tbh. No pressure to level, just to have fun.

Just did 40-42 with constant mob grinding, no downtime for anything besides riding to the nearest town to sell loot. It took pretty much exactly 4 hours per level, constantly killing level 39-41 mobs. Probably 120 kills per hour. Also made about 35g in those two levels, but they weren't mobs with particularly notable loot.

Questing is only faster if you can get uninterrupted, uncontested questing. People trying to quest in overcrowded or PvP-riddled places are going to find their leveling speed significantly hindered. Basically anytime you have to compete with other players for quest mobs/items or have to fight enemy players more than once or twice an hour, you're probably better off finding a secluded spot (there aren't many but they exist) and grinding mobs.

highly depends on your class.

When I reached level 30+ it generally took me 2-3 or so hours per level. When I was close to 40 it took around 4-5 hours. Alot of zones are crowded atm so I found that running dungeons over and over was a bit more faster then questing

Depends, sometimes I do an entire level without turning in quests followed by a massive turn in spree doing a full lvl in under an hr. Whilst the lvl before that took 2-3 hours! I guess on average 2-ish? As a warrior atm! Currently lvl 29 with 2 days 6 hrs or so played

so 60h. thats a new leveling record i guess?

When focused, are the key words. Between constant wPvP and other distractions, this isn't the case. But when just purely questing and grinding every mob between point A to B? Yeah, an hour per lvl, until 50's.

Ran out of quests at 58 so I had to do the rest with mobgrinding. 59-60 took like seven hours of non-stop grinding.

I smell alot of bs in this thread tho. Most should be 60 if they level as fast as they say. Been off work for like 5 Days or something, palying pretty much from 1600-1800 til 0700-0900 with just making food and such in the time, and I would say 2.5 levels is about what u do in that time, and geting slower after like 48. Grinding as Larsen said is like 6-7h/level even earlier atleast when skinning. Havent grinded much lately tho, but last time it was like 200xp/mob, so 500 kills per 100k xp. Say 6h, that would be 43.2 sec/kill which seems reasonable given u probably need to eat if skinner maybe empty bags. For 7h it would be 50.4 sec. Also, u need the mobs to spawn. Usually not a big problem but if its a good grinding spot u wont be alone, and then just hope if someone shows its your faction.

Personally I try to do quests if there are any, and then grind til whatever level I've decided to start next area. I dont mind it taking some time, but I do mind that lately it has felt likeI've been ahead of the horde of players so its been nice, now working 3 Days many will Catch up making grinding away maybe the only option.

With that said, maybe frostmages that finds a good aoe grindspot can do it in 2-3h if uninterupted, most classes it will take a lot more time for tho.

This has been my approach for several levels. I give myself some leisure time levelling leatherworking and using the AH but elsewise it's a grind while quest fest and the levels come around 1/hr to 1/1.5hr.
