Leveling a warrior: Which skills can be skipped?

Recommended Posts

I couldn´t find anything about this when it comes to warriors. What do you guys think? I feel like most of our skills are pretty useful.

Im lvl 36 atm, and I have only skipped Mocking Blow rank 2 and shild bash rank 2. I feel like both skills perform ok in rank 1.

Im sitting at 21 g I think, so im gonna cry a big deal when I reach 40.

Unless you get lucky and find BoEs or other valuables to sell you simply wont get mount at lvl40. Accept this fact and be happy if you get it by lvl45-50.

Most warrior skills you don't need more than rank 1 to be effective, skills like Overpower/Pummel/Shield Bash/Slam/Intercept/Mockung blow you can just train 1 rank and get the rest at 60.

Only get rank 1 of these skills Mocking blow pummel shield bash over power cleave intercept revenge thunderclap. They barely increase damage at all and cost a crap ton of gold. Take skinning as one of your professions and vendor all the leather. Also if you can stand it just grind instead of questing to level preferably on things like basilisks or other animals with nice vendor grays. Get an add on to show your vendor prices of items so you can prioritize drops when your bags get full. Don't buy food from the vendor either donate a little for mages to summon or an even better route is take time to raise cooking so you can cook the meats from animals you grind and use fishing. Also don't raise first aid vendor your cloth it makes a huge difference in inventory space and money. Money starts to come in easier as you level up so you can easily go back and farm or buy cloth to get it up.

I had 110g by level 40 and I didn't really sell much on the AH I just vendored tons of leather / cloth and grinded more then running around the world questing. If you do these things you'll easily have enough gold for your mount at 40.

The extra threat from cleave, heroic strike, revenge and thunderclap scales with their skill level, you may skip higher ranks of those spells if you don't plan to do any instances at all.

Things were a bit different for us old timers.  We didn't have dynamic respawn on those lucrative grind mobs that sell vendor fodder.

Also it is much easier for somebody new to an established server since your items sell for more on the AH.

I like farming turtles, cats, etc. Mainly beasts that drop nice grey vendor items as well as meat that I can cook and vendor. Turtles for example drop grey items that vendor for 1.5 - 9s per as well as dropping two types of meat that can be cooked and vendored/used. At the end of the day if you just grind mobs until your bags are full you will make gold. I've been able to afford upkeep on my gear, buying my mount, and at level 41 I still have over 140g to my name.
