Twinking poll/general

You see those 19s, 29s, and the occasional 39 running around in full chanted gear, are the brackets actually alive?  Can you get queue pops?

Twinking has existed since vanilla, and nestled into all brackets from 10s -> 99s over a decade.  People have mixed thoughts about it, and what it is.  The community has gone through many stages of being alive to being completely dead.  From 19s BG Tourneys with cash winning to 70s threads going up in flames in community wars.  There has always been points of interest.  The community seems to draw a satyrical group of people that are more interested in competative fun in the fines moments to out-right grieifing and bullying.  It is all part of the Twinking community.  Feelings get hurt, and memories are made.  At the end of the day those who participated have gained enjoyment.

During Vanilla the 19s, 29s, and 39s bracket where very active.  It was probably the most balanced enviroment minus goofy setups that where gimmicky yet fun, looking at the POD shamans.  I had one!  Why not try it?  The core issue is the lack of participation, the quality of play is there for people who enjoy PVP.

29 twinking is alive and kicking. BG's up 24/7, no idea about 19. Tempted to make a 39 twink.

I'm going to be making a 39 shaman, been picking at cheap gear i find on AH.  Does anyone have any 1.12 or even 2.4.3 armory archives or gear lists?

Ench: Copy the gear of a rogue/feral druid + pod.

Resto: Copy the gear of a resto druid + green tower/healing mace SM.

 

Twinking is never cheap is you wanna do it proper.

19s are active. When I have been on there is always at least one match open, often 3 open. Horde queues are rarely longer than 25min.

 

I have only ever played the 19 bracket and I am curious, What are the differences between the 19 and 29 bracket? Like what classes get new skills that change things, balance, meta, etc?

In 29 you can get bombs, rocket helm(gnome), rocket boots and pretty much most of the engi goodies.

More spells so more "complicated" plays and more possibilities to go worldpvp such as Hillsbrad/STV ganking.

Difference is pretty big for some classes. For example rogues get poisons and vanish which is huge for them. Warriors get intemidating shout, execute and piercing howl.

Certain classes are SOL in 19s. Shaman for example is terrible in 19s but playable in 29, 39, 49.  My issue with 19s has always been the over population of hunters, rogues, and  he usage of priest heals mainly.  You can find locks, mages, and warriors but you are not going to compare to a rogue or be able to get on a hunter by reasonable means. 

 

29s allow almost all classes to participate, not evenly though.  The least biased brackers are 39/49 but that is just my opinion.  I feel that 39 has more going on in a game and 49 adds the effect of mounts which changes game play.  Over all 39->49 is just mounts and warriors don't die to rogues.

I think the results of the poll that has been up for a few days only out-weighs that statement.   I have seen a few 39s, quite a bit of 29s and a lot of 19s running around.

Ive heard China banning VPN was a hard hit for 39 bracket since many twinks where chinese. And horde doesnt dominate any more

That could be. We've been leveling alliance chars to 39 as opposed to playing horde 39s lately. Got on last night for AB and horde was getting rolled with only 1-2 twinks in game. We'll know more after the games this weekend.

Making a character to play low level bgs in bis gear is called twinking. And was called that for 12 years. Maybe you call it otherwise but thats only you

In the game called World of Warcraft, the concept of twinking is one where you take a lower than max level character and through planned circumstance or extra cost provide the opportunity for the character to be overly geared compared to comparably geared characters of the same level. In doing so you give the character unusually higher power and survivability in which to be able to have an advantage in a battleground or pvp situation.

So I gotta ask, @yamish if you're such an expert in these matters, what exactly are we supposed to call wow characters that specifically overgear so that they can do bgs at 19, 29, 39, etc brackets? If you say anything along the lines of "well geared player" or "normal character" I'm going to internet choke you, so fair warning.
