faye 1 Report post Posted January 25, 2017 (edited) So, i remember when in vanilla.. we used to have a druid code.. Does anyone even still honor it? Duality 4 Report post Posted January 25, 2017 So... I did some research on 'The Druid Code'. Back in Vanilla druid vs druid would take forever (or untill one went OOM) so druids decided to make a code to play peacefully with oneanother. The code eventually extended to druids helping one another out with quests and killing mobs, even cross faction. Moonglade was a sacred place and killing a fellow druid there was the ultimate sin. It seems 'The Druid Code' died with the release of TBC. Along with TBC came Mangle, which was increadibly overpowered at the time, and druids was not able to kill one another more sufficiently. However, we're back in vanilla now. Let's bring 'The Druid Code' back to life.

Software 9 Report post Posted January 27, 2017 Following the "code" is great and all, but just don't get upset or annoyed if you are attacked by another druid at some point, even if it's in moonglade (GASP!). If you're on a PvP realm, it WILL happen at some point. And by the rules of the server it's 100% ok.

I remember first after Retail Launch, I was talking to the Bear Spirit when my character was wrapped by Roots. I turned around and a NElf started OOMspamming me. Fortunately, I was well armored, being a Leatherworker, and more importantly, had gotten the wonderful Cauldron-Stirrer Staff before doing the Bear quest, and taught the NElf the error of not keeping the peace in Moonglade.

Stondus 1 Report post Posted January 29, 2017 Well, having my drood only at 19, haven't seen that many horde members yet that I'd actually even *try* to attack, but I still can confirm that some druids DO honor the code at Zet'hKur. Was in Lakeshire farming leather and witnessed a skull - level druid beat the crap out of a paladin, salute me, and run away. Nope, neither me or the pala did anything to provoke the druid; it was just like a traditional "oh look, a gankable lowbie --> a dead lowbie" for the poor pala, and no interest whatsoever to try to kill me.

Totally get the palakilling. That class i so goddamned annoying. You beat them, they bubble, you beat them again, they bubble.

Outstanding 10 Report post Posted February 4, 2017 Yeah, so the code is down to a number of reasons. First, and obvious is that for vanilla it's the only class that had a shared and intrinsic background. Second, Tauren and Night Elves are clearly the best races and should never have been on opposing sides. Third, we always form the smallest community on both sides, making us more treasured and appreciated. Fourth, in certain BG's like WSG we rock at certain levels, so saluting each other as we head off to capture flags became a constant theme. Fifth, hybrids in vanilla are always pushing against the grain. So there is huge sympathy on both sides for our designated Resto role. I do agree that this goes out the window in TBC.
