Yipp 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2017 (edited) I have been levelling as feral and recently hit 50, looking to endgame i will be resto and was womdering if turning resto a bit earlier and relying on dungeons to get the last few levels was a good idea? Would you take a 58 resto to Strat eg? Edited January 29, 2017 by Yipp
gotmilk0112 10 Report post Posted January 29, 2017 I'd wait until 59, and then just heal BRD / DM:E to 60. That's what I did on my Shaman. I did get invited to a Strat at 59, and found it not overly difficult to heal.
Flexi 12 Report post Posted January 29, 2017 You could also stay Feral and tank dungeons at 60. Tanks are always in demand, so most groups wont mind that you need on healing items as your mainspec if you explain it to them before the dungeon begins. Once you feel like you have a comfortable amount of healing items you can make the switch to restoration.
Lorilay 12 Report post Posted January 29, 2017 I usually gear up with a 1/29/21 spec (feral/resto). It's a lot easier to get dungeon groups when you can dps, tank, and heal. I just inform the healers in my groups what I'm rolling on, and it's never been an issue.
lainalaatikko 1 Report post Posted January 30, 2017 there isnt many builds, maybe 3 difference (search google vanilla resto druid guide) theres guides, chooce one that fits you. I like to use Nature grace/ reju build.. and for start you can go to AH and buy some decent healing gear to there, shoulders/bracers/offhand (green heal)/waist/cape, run BRD as you get there good trinket/weapon/hands.. run DM east/BRD for starter to get decent gear and then you can go to heal harder dungeons. Pro tip, there is AV weekend coming in this weekend so prepare to get AV exalted so you get your BiS offhand, you get better from naxx/aq40 so..
lainalaatikko 1 Report post Posted January 30, 2017 you can also gear up as tank but group healer maybe dont like it, but tanks are realy in needed
Duality 4 Report post Posted January 30, 2017 Stay feral, grind som gold and look into buying the following items: - Living leather set - Hide of the Wild - Corehound Belt - The druid DM book and get the Royal Seal trinket - Other blue/green items with BH (Keep in mind: don't gimp your mana pool too much by only using BH items) - Run BRD a few times for mace and trinket with BH - Enchant the mace with +55 BH (you wont get a better mace untill ZG) At this point you should be geared enough to run any 5 and/or 10 man dungeon

szuszak 2 Report post Posted January 30, 2017 dont go resto untill you get some gear just run a 1/29/21 tanks are much harder to find than healers you get in groups where healers dont need gear at all - so just ask at the start of the dungeon if its ok if you roll on healer pieces that the healer dsnt want i was healing brd/lbrs as a full feral 16/31/5 just using the int/healing set - heart of the wild is amazing talent for undergeared healer since even if you are resto speced but have no mana you cant heal anything so keep lvling as feral respec at 60 but i would still go with a hybrid spec untill you get a good full set of gear

You won't be able to heal max level dungeons until maybe 59 and you have some decent gear. You can, however, heal a lot of things like BRD, LBRS, DM East and work on gearing up. In addition to the Living Leather there are some other things you will want like Hammer of Grace (BRD), the healing gloves from last boss in DM East or the ones from BRD, the belt from DM E, the pants from DM W, the Ghostweave crafted set to fill gaps while you grind your pre-Bis, etc. If you do all the dungeon quests along with grinding the dungeons a few times for gear, the XP gain is decent so you can go resto somewhere in the mid-50's depending on how much dungeons you want to do.
Yipp 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2017 Went a Hybrid at 54 and healed a few dungeons but not tanked any yet, the hybrid was more concentrated on being able to level. Im half way through 59 now and starting to look forward to the Lvl 60 5 man spam. All i see and hear is that tanks are so rare so am thinking of tailoring my hybrid spec to be able to tank 5 man and heal them both sub optimal but just to get the groups and hence the gear etc etc. I will be able to do a fair few in guild runs so there will be an easier learning curve as well. I was thinking something along this http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#0ZxxxscMdtVxf0c as a tanking centric build, but will it gimp myself to much if i do need to heal? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Raids appear to be a fair way away in guild at present
Roxanne Flowers 15 Report post Posted February 11, 2017 Try this instead ... http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#0zLV0oZxxxscMdtV ... 11/33/5 for a Dire Bear oriented tanking build. There's 2 talent points left over for you to put where you'd like, and you've got more than one option.
Lorilay 12 Report post Posted February 11, 2017 This is how I've geared up about 6 druids in 5-mans: http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#0zZxhxscbdLVgc0xo It's enough so that you can tank, dps, or heal just by changing your gear. It's easier to find/make groups when you can do any role.
taladril 43 Report post Posted February 11, 2017 It's an amazing spec. Only downside of it is it's soft on dps. Capable tank, capable healer though.
Yipp 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2017 Tried the Heart of the wild spec for a bit and although i healed and tanked in 5 mans with pretty poor gear it was allways suboptimal and felt i couldnt keep my end up as well. We did clear them all just required more cc and dps etc to play well. Which was fine and good but felt as i was a littlle undergeared i should bring more. From this i went omen tank/dps focusing on feral to get the gear to go back to heart of the wild spec. Hmmm this is litterally exactly what was suggested... lol sometimes i have to make my own mistakes! Working on the tanking pre raid BiS while picking up unwanted healing pieces as i go, still having lots of fun though :)

I want to do EVERYTHING :) How about this http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#0zZxrrscbdLVtcoxo? I couldn't decide between Thick Hide and Feral Instincts.
