Coldness 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2017 (edited) Sup guys, looking for some information on server to begin playing. I'm new to vanilla wow, have 110 level on retail and decided to try something new (old in this case). I understand that both these servers are pretty fresh and probably the only difference is population. So my question is, as an experienced vanilla player would you recommend a high populated server (Elysium) or medium populated (Zeth'Kur)? I mean number doesn't matter if, for example, a half of ¬12k Elysium population is toxic kids (just example, no offence). My priorities in game is to have a good interaction with other players and making a new friends to play with. Basically, I'm interested in good community and of course max level content. Would be very grateful for any recommendations. If somebody else has just started and looking for a friend to play with don't hesitate to leave your nicknames here:) Cheers, Coldness. riplip 2 Report post Posted February 5, 2017 (edited) it's simple as there is no difference between the two besides population. Want high pop? Elysium 11.5k peaktime 6000 downtime Want low pop? Zeth 3500 peaktime 1800 downtime You honestly can't be retarded as to pin one of the servers with "more toxic kids" as there are an equal proportion of "toxic kids" in legitimately every community that has ever existed in humanity. both those servers have ninja looters, 60s that camp low level zones, 3v1'ers, it's just shit that you have to adapt to as a PvP server and WoW in general. don't be stupid. Lehman Russ 13 Report post Posted February 6, 2017 I find that ZK is closer to the actual Vanilla experience at the moment, given that our peak population is around 4.5k atm.
gotmilk0112 10 Report post Posted February 6, 2017 Yeah, Elysium with its 9k+ online is just severely overcrowded. Every contested zone is a battleground. Even friendly zones are ridiculous because you have 10-20 people competing for the same quest mobs in any given area at any given time.
raine 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2017 I would say more of the hardcore players are on Elysium because it's the first fresh realm and it sustained queues which casual players would not tolerate as much.
Baxna 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2017 Pretty much what these guys have said, extreme pop vs medium-high. I'm enjoying Elysium ATM despite the competition for questing. Once you get past the barrens/silverpine it thins out a bit, and the contested zones have a decent mix of people pvping and letting people go by. I feel like Elysium will be more fun at 60, but getting there is gonna be a long road.
Wirago 8 Report post Posted February 6, 2017 Elysium has far too much population. Go Zeth!
arbet 9 Report post Posted February 7, 2017 Zeth'kur feels plenty busy. It's still much more populated than original realms were so it's not like it is empty.
