What you retail players need to undertand about "Nina Looting" of BoE's

Recommended Posts

Hello guys.  Ever since the launch of live WoW need rolling on high value BoE's (IE: Assassins Blade) is the standard.  I don't give a FUCK if you can use it and I can't.  When something is worth hundreds of gold I expect everyone to roll need.

I actually saw a rogue lvl 22 equip this after winning the roll on Nostalrius and it blew my mind.  He had no intention of twinking.  No idea the value of the blade.  He also went on a rant because everyone rolled need on the item.

TL;DR:  IF A BOE IS HIGH VALUE AND SOMEONE ROLLS NEED ON IT THEY ARE NOT NINJA LOOTING.  FUCK OFF

What if you can use the item by selling it to buy an upgrade that you will equip?

Highlighted the key words for you to make the puzzle a bit easier.

I'd consider you a jackass then, and a ninja if someone needs the item.  I'm only talking about HIGH VALUE BOE'S (IE : TWINKING ITEMS, WORLD DROP EPICS, ETC)

What if I need the item for the disenchanting reward?

If you are going to roll need on all BoE greens - i wouldn't mind.

But if i was an enchanter in need of mats i would say "will pay X for each BoE green after the dungeon" and collect them after we've done.

If you want to disenchant rare BoE - if your pocket is going to sustain it, i'm fine.

Warsong and Arthas EU, horde and alliance, always was "need on all BoEs" unless specified.

I hate these threads. At least post your ingame name and realm so I know who not to group with.

This is my in game name playa.  Never been accused of ninja looting anything. Point is if a bis twink item or world epic drops good luck not having everyone roll for it

This is a new and interesting topic. Maybe just accept that there are different opinions. And don't expect people to follow YOUR rules. Especially if you don't state them in advance.

Exactly this. Best statement in all threads about this topic. Be fair & state your preferred rule/opinion in advance & find consensus with all group-members. If that's not possible, leave & look for another group.  Everything else is stubborn and dogmatic.

Edit: And don't forget to keep calm and stay friendly, if there's no consensus, cause there's no right and wrong, just different points of view ;-)

No, never you where burned at the stake on the US servers for this, this was one of the few times horde and ally players would come togeather to run some one off the server.

I disagree.

Blaming people and calling them ninjas for rolling "Need" on BoE is wrong. You may agree or disagree with whether or not one should do that, but publicly calling people ninjas for that is quite fucked up.

confirming. I will now roll need on all bop blues because I need that money.

That is Ninjaing. People do dungeons for specific items. You don't do a dungeon because you want a certain BOE to drop from there.
It's also wrong because the gold from a BOP is not enough to buy a BOE of equal quality.

Yeah Because I'm going to discuss lootrules everytime I join a party to finish an outdoor quest right? Epic BOE can drop outside of instances aswell.

From what other people in the thread have said, it is not ninjaing apparently.

It's not ninjaing when the gold provided can get you an upgrade.
Example: a 400G epic plate BOE drops. A mage can need it to buy a 400g cloth BOE

Example: a 15g blue plate BOP drop. The mage can not need it because he can't use that money to buy a blue cloth

Oh? what's the threshold then? 45g? 100g? Who is to say that the 15g won't go towards that 400g BoE? Gold is gold. He CAN use that money to buy a blue cloth.

The treshold is simple. Need on BOE and Greed on BOP. There is no such thing as a BOP that vendors for enough to buy an item of equal strength.

People do dungeons because they want a specific BOP. If they wanted a specific BOE they should've bought it. They didn't.
