Grinding 2 mobs at once?

Recommended Posts

I see lots of warrior guides advise using Sweeping Strikes to kill 2 mobs at once, but whenever I do that, I get wrecked. Even fighting mobs 2-3 levels below me, I end the fight at like 30% health, after 35-45 seconds of combat.

I've tried SS + autoattacking and moral striking, SS + Cleave, and SS + Whirlwind, it always ends with a long fight and barely surviving. Is this really faster than killing single mobs?

I'm level 51, Arms and currently using a Kang, trying to get Ice Barbed but it's not AV weekend so no AV games.

Would it help to be Fury instead? There is Imp Cleave, but I've read that the talent only increases the extra bonus damage from Cleave, not the entire ability's damage.

Damn, what server do you play on? This is exactly why I hate low population.

Kang isn't so bad but Ice Barbed would be way better. Also respec for parry 5 if you don't have it already, heroic strike talent is worthless for leveling now that you have Mortal Strike / WW.

You're not already eating after fighting two mobs? I feel like using Sweeping Strikes on two mobs -2 levels is way better than fighting them solo, especially because demo shout is more efficient.

I'm on Darrowshire. There are almost never any AV games outside of AV weekend.

I'm respecced to Fury at the moment, never used the heroic strike talent past 30, yeah.

Like I said, when I fight two mobs, I end the fight around like 20-30% health. Is this really the fastest way to kill things? When fighting regular mobs, I can go like 3 or 4 or even 5 mobs before having to bandage, depending on crit RNG.

Currently I'm using a Slam build, and it works rather well. Charge in, pool some rage, then hit multiple Slams. If I get a crit, I switch to autoattacking and Bloodthirst during the Flurry proc. Seems to kill things just about as fast as Arms was.

Though I'm noticing that Slam is not scripted properly, because instead of pausing my swing timer like it's supposed to, it's resetting my swing timer. No matter when I use it, I have to wait the full 3.6 seconds before my next autoattack.

Use demo shout after charge.. Its OP against mobs. You'll reduce the dmg you take significantly. Especially if you are taking 2+ mobs. That 10 rage will save you like 20% life or more.

It is scripted correctly.  Your expectations are not properly set.

It counts as a cast, which will reset your swing timer.  If using a slam build, you should time your slam right after your auto attack AND with the mobs swing timer remaining being greater than the cast time of your slam.  This will limit your swing timer clipping, AND avoid pushback.
