Transfer to Elysium. I want my name kept.

There are 1000's of reserved names on elysium. I was lucky enough to secure a popular one on zeth'kur and now with the recent news of this transfer it means that my zeth'kur character is going to be moved to a database, which will possibly have to undergo a name change?
What is actually going to happen about duplicates?
My character with higher level and playtime should have it's name secured.
The elysium reserve, i've never seen online.

If someone has your name then the first time you log in after the transfer it will ask you to enter a new name.  Going by time played would be nice but I don't think that's possible.

Names

The next biggest concern is about names – how are character and guild names handled. We have come up with a solution for both characters and guilds.

Character Names

The way we will handle character names is based on the highest /played time. The character with the highest /played time will keep the name. The character with the lowest /played time will be given a free name change. Upon trying to log into the character they will be forced to enter a new name and will not be able to enter the world until they choose their new name.

Guild Names

Guild names will be decided on the oldest creation date. The guild that has been running for the longest time will keep the name, the newest version of the guild will be renamed to something similar to the original name. The guild master will then have the option to message one of the Head Game Masters to manually rename the guild to something of their choice.

why should i change my name for someone's  level 1 name reserve who probably doesn't play here anymore?

this isn't Kronos

sucks that you're going to lose your name.. but people complained about ZK population being so low so Elysium is allowing transfers..

Think about the people who left Elysium back then with their guilds and created the same guild on Zeth Kur then. This will be a huge problem as I know a lot guilds who did that.

Didn't know Kronos did that. If it's technically possible, then it's great that a server has given equal chance to all players.

Fact is you picked the server with the highest risk of dying. That was known day 1 of the ZK launch, that it would be the most vulnerable since it was just the Elysium overflow. Considering the last minute nature of the server creation very few established guilds went there since they already committed to Elysium. You should be beyond stoked you get to Xfer, many many dying private servers didn't have that luxury and lost everything. Quit your whining about your stupid name, you don't deserve jack.

But level 1 reserve names should be deleted at least?
Taking into account bank accounts and their inventory's. if they at least logged on and moved to a capital city, they shouldn't be removed due to having valuables. Any character that has never logged on even once since the servers opening, should be removed, as the name duplication will cause problems for the addition of zeth'kur players dropping in.
Me and Many players will not be happy about changing our names.
though i understand it will not be resolved through playtime.

Known fact they don't release names of people that have been band too.

Get creative and pick a new name.  Can't ask staff to remove lvl 1 names or prioritise time played players.

I won't get this name on Elysium if I transfer but I do have some names saved on Elysium I will take.

Also a lot of people save names for an alt somewhere down the line and often have different names for classes saved.  It's not fair to those players to remove the names they saved so someone else can have them.  

If you started playing on Elysium late that's just the way the cookie crumbles.   If you didn't bother reserving some names at the start well that's your in fault.

The main problem with this is it doesn't work for everyone and can also stop someone having their second choice of saved name.

An example would be if someone with less played time on their 60 doesn't get the name they want will need fall back on saved names.  If you allocate every level 1 alt name to transferred players that means the player who lost out on their main name also loses out on their 2nd/3rd choice name also and has to choose some trash name.

As a ZK player that's name is taken on Ely, im thrilled we even get an xfer, ppl whining about trivial shit like this.....

Start coming up with new names and reserve them before the transfer. You shouldn't complain here because you willingly rolled on ZK, which was stupid. Now they are bailing you out; you should be thankful you don't have to reroll from scratch, which would also cost you your precious name. You either take your character with a new name, or nothing.

The big difference, of course, being that Kronos was an INVOLUNTARY MERGE. This is VOLUNTARY TRANSFERS.

 

If your name means that much to you, you can either go elsewhere or stay on zk. Have fun.
