Operatics 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2017 Hey all, I used to raid way back in the day in vanilla and loved it. I was never really hardcore though so I have a lot to learn. I can't be a really devoted raider these days, but it would be fun to get into the content. Is it possible to raid casually on Elysium, either in a guild or just in pugs? If so, should I choose a needed class that isn't too hardcore (no MTing for me...) or will I still have the chance to get in as a more common DPS? I don't want to always be waiting and waiting for a chance to get into groups because I'm the billionth huntard in queue.
Oakenlix 79 Report post Posted April 29, 2017 In casual guilds you can join a raid as any class/spec most of the time. Don't worry about that, play what you like.
Operatics 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2017 Enh Shammy it is, then! I know for competitive guilds they'll take MAYBE one, but whatevs. That way I can DPS or heal for dungeons while leveling
Garun 9 Report post Posted May 3, 2017 Mage and warlock are really easy to do decent on and usually in relatively high demand. It will still take a lot of research to max out your dps capabilities though.
wickedwizard 2 Report post Posted May 4, 2017 if you're a druid or shaman and not resto you probably won't get a spot.

Xylon666Darkstar 4 Report post Posted May 4, 2017 Enh Shaman is not a 'casual raiding class's. If any one raid only needs ONE enh Shaman, it'll be a spot filled by a dependable raider. You're better off as lock or mage if want to casual.

Exactly - Lock or Mage both extremely fun shadow/frost bolt simulators :)

Are you sure you know what "casual" means though?
Hurricane2 2 Report post Posted May 4, 2017 I would think in this case it means picking a class that is desired in raid group compositions. Picking a spec a raid only needs 1 of makes it unlikely to be invited to a guild or pug raid and therefore would make it difficult to log on intermittently and do raid content.
Masteridley 3 Report post Posted May 4, 2017 On Ely I always see guilds and pug raids looking for ranged dps and healers. If you really want instant invite though roll dwarf priest.
Tronco 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2017 Mage, warlock, or any healer are your best choices. Hunter , maybe... For example, hunters are on demand in Anathema Rogue, fury, SP youll get a spot only on full moons Ret, enhancement, feral totally a no-go Id pick warlock if you go alliance, thats like instant invite to PuGs
