World PVP in Bird Culture

Recommended Posts

Hello there, im a new player in wow but ive been thinking about pvp and stuff… world pvp i mean and its kinda hard for me to think in a “honorable” way to deal with that… im not a crybaby I actually enjoy the world pvp and get ganked a lot, its just that im not sure when is it “ok” when its my turn to gank and kill some random player, so these are my though about the matter:

"Not being a dick"

Defensive Stance

·         Only killing enemy players when they are roaming in your faction region if they are your level, or is they are a threat for the average lvl players in that zone.

Aggressive Stance

·         Even when you are in enemy territory only kill enemies close to your level.

If you are going for an all open war I think is also an ok move if you even go and raid an enemy town and kill everybody there, but camping is not allowed.

"In bird culture that is considered a dick move"

·         Camping in lower level player zone: since ive only played alliance characters so, my only experience is  Lakeshire but im pretty sure that alliance players do the same, ive seen too many lvl 60 horde characters camping in the city and killing lowies and STAYING there.

So, what do you guys think?

i dont enjoy unhonorable kills i only kill people who act agressively or are on my kill list

if someone could be a treat i keep some distance and see how he acts and if he does a wrong move he is dead

and i only gank players from "the list" and to defend my farming zone or if someone is really fucked up but then i enjoy it and i do it for 2 hours if it has to be

justice is great :)

Usually I only kill enemies that give honor, unless I have some specific reason to kill some low level player or it's a part of some event I'm participating in, like a town raid or something.

This seems reasonable to me.

My theory is on my way to southshore to go buy arrows from the AV vendor (yes i'm alliance) i happen to pass through the yeti area. Well as i run through i scope out to see if people are there killing stuff, after i make my purchase i head back and kill every single person in the area and kill the FP. Why do i do it? Why do roses have thorns? It's a game and i love making people say IRL, what a dick!

I can definitely see where you're coming from, but honestly any time is ok.

It sucks getting ganked by a ?? when leveling, or rolled over by a full group of same level characters, but that's how the war goes.  Any dispute with the other faction can be solved by pvp, so I enjoy the unrestricted nature of it.  I don't corpse camp because I find it boring, but I understand it will happen to me at times.  That's when I hope you made friends in the game (or guildies) who may be able to help you because if you can kill the camper you're free to play again, or camp them as payback.  Any time I see an alliance char I automatically start thinking: how can I kill this person.  Sometimes that means running up and smashing their face, other times it means waiting until they engage with a mob, sometimes it means playing nice and doing a /wave then backstabbing them, doesn't matter to me as long as I can kill them.

Pvp settles everything and is therefore the most enjoyable part of the game for me.  We can grind mobs all day, even raid them, but it's always the same, and with 13 years since launch the fights have been honed into a science.  You can theorycraft all you want but pvp always has something a little different with each fight, a person on the other end.  A person I want to kill in such a way they yell GOD DAMNIT when they die.  I love that pvp is kept free of "play nice" rules.

PS - on retail you did have a choice to play on pve and still have a full pop server, something that cant be done if you want to play vanilla now.  For those who just don't like pvp I can understand any frustrations about pvp.  My post was for those who like the idea of pvp but don't like certain aspects of how it works in game.

The code is, if it's red its dead.

And what exactly is the point of killing a grey low lvl player?

well, consider this: if you kill low level players they struggle to get to lvl 60, so the other faction cant raid at the same pace as your faction, so your faction will have better gear and more ppl at lvl 60... i think

That's a way too far-fetched reasoning which I don't believe is true in most cases. To get some advantage by trying to influence the faction balance by making it a bit harder for potential enemies to level up by wasting a few minutes of their time by killing them - that would be ridiculous even if you really cared about it, but in reality hardly anyone actually gives a вау.

Most people who do this and who I've talked to about it explain their urge to kill grey low levels by simple "I like it", and as I said, that's a sign of something wrong (for example, being a watermelon).

So doing stuff in this game is wrong unless there is a reward from playing other then having fun?
Cause killing greys sure beats idling in ironforge!

You logic fails you once again. No, having fun is great. But if you have fun from killing players who can't possibly give you any competitive fight and don't get you honor or any other benefits, solely because you like to waste their time and make them upset - then you have problems, that's all I'm saying.

Agree completely. But most players unleash the classical: "It's a PVP server" or "go back to retail" when we say this... People don't realize that killing greys is not nice, arguably even immoral.

Just because something is not against the ToS it doesn't mean that it is cool to do it. Problem is the internet masks moral rules and reveals, as you said, 'people with problems'.

Having "fun" is subjective, whether it's running amok in Redridge or joining battlegrounds. There is no correlation to one necessarily having a "problem". It's just a game, and the mechanics of it allows this to happen, deal with it you easily triggered god damn generation z ... ah christ.

I don't imagine any actual adult would be offended by the "bundle of sticks" word. I find it quite hilarious that you decided to delete my whole post because of just a word or two, but whatever, I'm not gonna re-write it.
