Dual Spec, how's it work in vanilla?

Recommended Posts

I forget, and i can't seem to find anything in a google search.

Basically just wondering at what level i can get it (i seem to remember it being Lv 40), how much it costs (i seem to remember it being 10g), can i swap specs anywhere or do i have to be at my trainer (this i have no memory of, but i think you have to be at the trainer), etc...

Anyone have a good guide on this?

Actually, come to think of it, does anyone have a good one-stop website or source for vanilla wow rules, talent calculators, etc... that they would recommend?

Its astonishing how much about this game i have forgotten over the years.  And now my mind is a horrible amalgam of flat out forgetfulness mixed with jumbled memories of vanilla mixed with various expansions.

There is no dual spec in vanilla.

This database has pretty much everything you need http://db.vanillagaming.org/ including tools for talent calculating.

Here you can find out when server events will happen http://nostalri.us/anathema

And on this site you can find some raid statistics and a sort of armory http://realmplayers.com/

Thanks man!  WOW.  No dual spec.  You can, of course, re-spec i presume for a fee.

Yes you can re-spec for a fee that gets increasingly higher and higher each time you do it, capping out at 50g. I think it's 1g first re-spec, then 5g more every next re-spec and minus 5g if you do not re-spec for at least 30 days.

...it's costly.

Thanks again.  It's all coming back to me now.  Not exactly thrilled about leveling a holy priest or healing a party as a shadow priest.  So i'll have to plan accordingly.

You can level as a shadow priest and heal in dungeons well enough, and then respec to holy once you got to 60.

This isn't true, maybe it gets implemented in a future patch but right now on elysium there is no decay in respec cost no matter how long you wait.

Yeah.  My first toon in 2004 was a disc/holy priest.  I had no idea what i was doing so there was no thought of leveling efficiency or anything like that.  I never tried Shadow so i guess that's what i'll do.  I hate filling a roll that i'm not purely built to do but i do recall plenty of people who healed the mini dungeons as shadow.

It is true, but it does not go below 10g

Omg thank you so much for correcting me. I thought I was going crazy cause a lot of people were saying the reduction was working but I haven't seen mine drop in price over the last 2 months. I am at the 10g mark which would explain why, wish I would have know this I would have respecced prot weeks ago.

1g starting out for a respec seems a lot higher than Blizzard vanilla. iirc, it started out at 10s.
