Is elysium blizzlike

Recommended Posts

It's close enough to keep me happy.  Anecdotally, it seems like the GM's tend to act differently, and there's some things with spawnrates that are probably different.  The large chunks of the population separated by language is problematic in some ways.  In a weird way, although there are bugs and differences from the original experience, the overall quirkiness of it feels similar, even if some of the specific quirks differ.

Hey when you dissenchant an item, the box appears with the material but it automatically goes to your bags. Is this blizzlike or a bug? because I remember I had to click on it first before it ends up in my bag.

The reason why I am mention this here is because I get turned off when I see this, It kinda makesme feel like it is not blizz like experience

Pretty sure this is a bug.  Just makes sure that you have free bagspace before you d/e, because I'm pretty sure you lose the material.  I'm not going to put in a ticket for my [Strange Dust] or whatever it was, but be careful when you d/e.

what about the population? nostalrius had 13k and still rising. but on elysium currently highest ive seen was +7k. does the staff expect an influx of players any time soon?

There are more people than you would want to have in some cases.  Bliz never gave you population numbers as i recall.  They simply said a server had low, medium or high population.  I have no idea what a typical Blizz server with medium population had numbers wise.  Elysium, as you can check, tends to be between 5k and 6.5k players at any given time.  It is MORE than enough people for sure.  And i'm on alliance which tends to have roughly 45%-50% of the overall population.

In any event, 5k players is far better than 10k IMO.  Hell, 3.5k would probably be ideal.

The server is bumping trust me.  You will easily find people to group with and you will get annoyed questing because there are more people trying to do quests than there are mobs to kill.  When i decided on a server, i picked Elysium because it is the earliest iteration of the game and had strong numbers.  But if there were 1/2 as many players on the server it would still be enough IMO.  And it's very blizzlike.

when i log on and play, i feel like its 2004 all over again.

I must say again that the people running the server deserve massive props.

No, you just don't know what "blizzlike" means. No one has ever claimed ever to be as Blizzard (as this obv. isn't possible for many reasons). "Blizzlike" just means that we're trying to be as close to the original as possible, but keeping all the "blizzlike"-bugs, exploits etc. isn't a good idea.

It's very convenient isn't it. Claiming to be blizzlike while customizing the game to fit your own agenda and then spewing rhetoric bullshit like that.

You can't tell me that you're doing everything in your power to fight gold sellers while nerfing legitimate farming spots. It's a paradox.

Their agenda is to be as blizz like as possible while making a few tweaks that benefit the overall community.

Please. There's gold sellers constantly spamming world chat alongside the occasional system message warning players not to buy gold while they're actively nerfing every great way to farm gold.

Stop with the white knighting man it's pathetic

One could argue, that Nostalrius/Elysium has never been blizzlike at all. 8000+ people online at a time has never been a thing on blizzard realms (not even close) and in addition to that, it's an international server.

And don't get me wrong, I value this difference as an advantage. I play some retail WoW now and then and I really miss the international atmosphere of Elysium on my German realm.
