Ya know... I'm just thrilled that a server like this exists! I can get my fix of this drug without playing the dreadful retail version. Instead I can live out a part of my childhood, relive my deep nostalgic memories, and all for free!

 

I want to sincerely thank the entire staff, volunteers, and anyone else behind the scenes. You guys are truly heroes! Thank you for offering a free transfer too. Seriously, you guys are fantastic. 

 

I won't sweat the small details and neither should anyone else. The fact that a server like this exists is great. Thank you for your hard work!

It is crazy watching the madness unfold on discord the minute anything goes awry. Most of the people spewing vitriol are adults too. Thanks Elysium team for giving us awesome vanilla servers to play on!

They're just enjoying themselves while they wait, it's all fake madness in the form of memes. People who take it seriously concern me.

GMs don't really do much. The real props go to the developers and Github volunteers (found here: https://github.com/elysium-project/server/pulls) who use their talent to fix bugs for free instead of profiting from their knowledge.

QFT. It's amazing how many bugs that existed for AGES on Nost were squashed sometimes in 3 days of fixing and some more time until it went live with the next patch. Sweeping strikes change comes to my mind first. It ate up all charges at once when you had enough targets for whirlwind to eat them. It was ridiculously OP as you had the ability to oneshot 4 opponents at the same time. No pserver had this fixed and now - poof - it's done. I was so flabbergasted that I had to look it up on WoW Wiki because I already thought the pserver way of working was the intended one...

If its any consolation, the toxicity that many of these "supposedly" adult people spew is a consiquence of their love for the game.

I think everyone that plays this project should chip in 5 bucks a head to buy the people running it a freaking massive Christmas present each year. 

I absolutely love Elysium and the people running it get mad props from me.  They're literally philanthropists.

Shit, I'd give them 50 right now if I could move from Alli to Horde since only horde guilds on Anathema raid my available times.

Raiding seems more fun than transmuting Essence of Undeath to Water every 24 hours then logging out.

I'd like to throw some love towards them taking action in multiple areas:

Finally getting ZK moved over.    Pushing out content on the other servers, and what not.

 

Issues will come up, and to not only listen but react is very nice to see.

Even Nost added unblizzlike features as needed in order to maintain a healthy server, albeit as a last resort (example would be dynamic respawns).  That's why it's "blizz-like" not "blizz-copy".

It's pretty common sense that Zethkur was a temporary solution to the queues and was planned to merge back together when hype died down.

You can't bemoan one server's custom change and laud another's.  Every server has unique issues that need remedied that aren't going to be "blizz-like".  policies and development of online games are always ongoing.  Operating a version of the game that stopped development a decade ago doesn't make it infallible.  If Blizzard themselves opened a vanilla server today, they'd be forced to make changes that would otherwise be considered not "blizz-like".

I think that so long as the changes that are made are minor and serve a direct purpose, that they are warranted.  Reducing the max respec cost to 25g still carries significant weight, but also lowers the cost of entry for pve raiders looking to pvp on the side.  Love it or hate it, sometimes changes need to happen to keep a healthy server.
