Good point, hakoon. Problem is Nost can't have all players (it's really big number -  thank you Blizzard for advertising around Nostalrius and vanilla game) at only one (two with PvE) realm. Don't worry, mate. Nostalysium/Elystalrius ( good names for our new project, hm ) have really, really large fan-boys than old, bad Kronass.. Kronass.. they and their business with characters and items.. they just make from our game their good busisness! Donť worry and enjoy game!

But I do think Nost PvP server only had a large population because there was no fresh new quality PVP server available back then. So new players and current players (at that time) kept joining and starting new characters on the Nost pvp server. Furthermore, it was also the only realm available that had a high population for NA players (Kronos, dislike it or not because they offer stuff for money, is still a quality realm available to us, but they used to lacked the population for NA players before Nost shut down their server) which also helped keeping the Nost population to a sky high level.

 

Now that a fresh pvp server will be released with most probably its own timeline of contents,  ALOT of players, new and former Nost players, will prefer to race to 60 as a same wave on it (especially after 7 months of inactivies with their old Nost progress, I know some players that just cant remember their username/password for their old account)... leaving empty the vast majorities of the leveling zone pre-60 on both former PVP Nostalrius/Elysium server AND Kronos 2 (Kronos, who gladly accepted the Nost refugees back then, and even if we can disagree with their line of conduct towards free or not that free items/services, most of Nost players were glad they opened a fresh server to let them continue their vanilla wow experience.)

 

I am far from being a prophet, but I am pretty sure Nost pvp/pve server population will become low after a few weeks of it's relaunch date, Kronos 2 will become very low, Kronos 1 will die (already on the artificial breathing machine at the moment, due to the opening of K2, severely cannibalizing K1) and only the fresh new server will be on a high population level

 

I just hope I'm damn wrong, and you are right on this. But I doubt it.

You should not have to download a new client. The same client that I used for feenix or molten, was the same one I used for nostalrius. The client is the same so you don't have to get a new one. The only change will be changing the realm-list to match Elysium's

As a newcomer to both Elysium and Nost: Thank you for giving us a home! Day 1 vanilla player, quit shortly after BC release. Excited to see the game in it's former glory.

It hasnt been mentioned anywhere specifically to my memory but I am fairly sure I heard there would be population caps on the servers set around 6000 online (dont quote me this is from memory), hopefully this would deter one server having a negative affect on the others, e.g the fresh server for people who dont want to compete vs the pvp and pve server

Thank you guys for doing this for the community! I think the project should get a new name as soon as possible. Nostalrius is a really big brand and you guys should try to profit from it. My personal favorite at the moment is something like Nostalrium.

 

1) You keep most of the brand name - only one letter is changed. The name still has the nostalgia-component in it, which - at the end of the day - is the reason most players want to relive legacy

 

2) You keep a bit of yourself - the realms you guys provide should be some kind of Elysian Fields for us vanilla players after all

 

3) It doesnt sound as bad as Nostlysium or Elystalrius

Yes they will on the respective servers they were first created : PVP nost will be xfered to the Elysium PVP server, PVE to the PVE, and there will be that fresh new PVP server with no Database transfer on.

It's been almost 10 years since I played classic, can't explain how eager I am to return.

 

So devestated to have missed the Nost opportunity, but ironically I'm thankful to Blizzard for all the recent publicity.

 

Ps. I'm playing on fresh, because getting camped by t2.5s and r14s when you're in greens is dogshit, & can only assume the economy is brutal for newbies.

I don't understand the economy fears. Things sell for more, yes, but that also means the things you sell will sell for more too.

A level 35 can easily get 4 stacks of elemental earth while grinding, and boom there is all the gold you need for your mount + some.

Also with war effort, even a level 1 herbalist can make decent money.

You will log on to the server like you would nost and your characters would be the same as it was on nost, and for elysium you will have to change your username i believe it will be 2 separate accounts.

This will be my first time playing through Vanilla.

I started in early TBC and WoW evolved into something i don't like anymore.

Didn't get around to start on Nostalrius, and now im really hyped and into playing here!

Hope it doesn't actually take until 2017 and they can handle the mass of people
