PvP, PvE & fresh start

You will be able to choose which realm (in case of multiple realms) that you will be able to transfer your character to and resume playing as if Nostalrius never left. You will not be able to transfer from PvP to PvE, and so Elysium characters will only be able to join a PvP realm and Nostalrius PvE characters will only join a PvE realm.

Additionally, we wish to assure you that all personal information linked to accounts will be protected at all costs. Therefore, a very secure process will be implement to transfer your character data from Nostalrius to the new realms hosted by Elysium.

This paragraph here makes me so happy, the time invested, the people I met, the year long journey that brought so much joy to me, getting that back means so much, I accepted all that progress lost forever, I can't wait to join your server!

I am excited to play on a fresh realm. That will definitely be the most populated.

Playing on a realm that is half over in progression is silly unless you're rocking 60s from Nost.

Glad to hear Nost is continuing on. This most certainly is a massive challenge for Valkyrie, considering the media and popularity of Nost and the legacy scene. Appreciate someone taking on the task. Wish you all the best with it and hope it is online soon!

While I'm super excited about fresh start server, I have one important question:

 

How will you handle gold sellers? 

 

Those pests are plaguing almost every private server and as soon as we heard announcement of Nostalrius team joining Elyisium, we also had those pest starting to /w us about their offers. So, do you have any plan how to deal with this low-life scum?

I don't understand all these people asking for a fresh start. It's been made clear a fresh start will happen as well as merging PVE to PVE servers and the same with PVP, all with restored toons.  So you can do any of the three options.  Come on people did you even read the post?

Docholy these posters are trying to start a buzz and influence people away from the main database server; its pretty transparent, however it wont change anything. ill put dollars to doughnuts the original database will be the most successful server and the "new" server will be a ghost town within a month after these guys realise they dont get free purples like they did on retail, as it was made clear in the multiple previous disucssions theres overwhelming support for the return of the community and the minority who were against it never even played on nost...

Anyway,

I for one cant thank Elysium enough for seeing to the return of our characters and for reuniting the vanilla community once more... This servers going to be awesome!

Thats just it Holystrike, the merger will just put everyone exactly where they are at. So these people trying to influence people into a fresh start server won't lose anything at all. I think some of the posters are lacking critical reading skills and don't understand their toons were frozen today (or whatever date) and will just be back when the merger is complete.

Because there are guys with t2 pieces (my self included), making a new character on either Nost PvP or PvE realm isn't going to give them opportunity for fair competition, which is obviously what some people are looking for. On other hand, some people want their old characters back so that they can continue progression that they already made on Nostalrius. I don't think either of them are wanting something that is wrong, and giving people a chance to decide for them self where they want to play and what they want to do is wonderful opportunity, something that, let's not forget, Blizzard haven't give us.

 

Secondly, having player base split between three realms will actually prevent each realm being clogged with too many players, because, let's be honest, 10k players on one realm was unplayable. Watching all those videos from old Nost with massive open-world PvP looks nice but realistically speaking, leveling was ridiculous. 

 

Last, but not least, I agree that people should put a finger to their forehead and actually think about  facts from different perspective before jumping to a conclusions. Just because you don't want to give up on your character (I'm doing my best to keep this in civilized tone, rather then tell you what I exactly think about that kind of players), don't think that everyone else will do same as you will. Again, most important is that everyone will have chance to make choice for him self where to go and what to do. Wanna go on Nostalrius PvP/PvE? Great, good luck there, but do not write a pre-mortem (if that is a thing) for Fresh Start realm just because you can't see motivation to roll there, you might be surprised with results.

 

Personally, I cherish the chance to have my guild on Fresh Start realm compete for first realm kills, but that's just me. Some other people have other kind of motivation and I respect that without feeling the need to poo in their plate just because they disagree with me.

It warms my heart to see that we will still have a true vanilla realm to exist in.

 

I do have one main concern though. With Nostalrius' original server, I was able to connect and it worked quite well. Very little ghosting effects when seeing other players run, and a playable latency. But out of all of the other private servers I've tried in the past, ghosting and latency have rendered the server simply not enjoyable for me.

 

Will the servers here be playable for someone in North America without severe issues?

So ваууed up... lvl 60 here on elysium for 3 months and few days after I end everybody stop playin... than my char will be transfered to realm with AQ opening.. nice... so i can start new char on fresh server and start doing 60 Again... realy cool!!!! hope you guys will allow transfer to fresh server!!!!! not 1,5 years old one... delete all items and leave me my 60 with few golds i have on fresh server.. thanks!

When can we expect a follow up announcement? this post says a lot but also leaves a lot of questions unanswered, will there be a stress test or a short "beta" to test out clustering(assuming clustering will even be a thing) and the bugs that might be associated with it?

More importantly the plan, I'm not looking for a "timeline" or a release date more like what needs to be done before you feel secure about releasing.

So, all the time, throughout these months, I've been waiting for this? When Nost come back? That is all? Problem is i delete all my characters from Nost, forgot my old email and now? Play with my little hero at 30lvl from Elysium against guys with T2? Pre AQ time? When vanilla is near its end? I know this server is being ran somewhere in EU correct, I live EST in the United States. So as the post stated the "AMA on Sunday November 13th on /r/wowservers at 9PM server time" I have no idea what the server time translates to my time EST. Can someone please assist me? I'm very intrigued.
