Ragiral 4 Report post Posted November 17, 2016 (edited) So, i was discussing about it in Discord and i thought it could be a nice idea, to encourage not only good behavior, but recognition by the staff members of Nostalrius and Elysium (Only the staff members can awards those recognitions points) Since the forums have a similar systems (which is known as reputations, which is the total of + and - that you receive from all your posts combined). Some example of how to gain those Recognition point; Reporting hackers, cheaters, exploites, botters. Reporting bug/glitch/exploit to the staff members. And maybe even more ... So as an example Some rewards could be some TCG mount! (be sure that the devloppers of Nostysium (Nostalrius + Elysium) change the "bind" so it's goes from "Binds on Used" to "Bind of Pick-up" Those rewards are cosmetic/s ONLY! They won't affect your gameplay at all, other than your "prestige" mount. That could be like the "big" recognition... So as a real example: 25 Recognitions Points(again, only given by the staff members) will award you a TCG pet(Which again won't affect your gameplay at all, beside pixels following you) 100 Recognitions Points will award you a TCG mount (The mount in question should be set, so the value of the moutn can be ... as the name point say... recognisable.) 250 Recognitions Point will award you a "MVP" title (like the one on the battle net forums) 500 Recognitions Points will award you a Title In-Game (Thought i'm sure it wouldn't be Blizz-like, if they add a title on their own) like example: Ragiral, the Recognizer. But obviosuly, if the idea is taken, all those info above are subjects to change to the staff discrections. PS: Other TCG mount could be given to players, who donate for the servers cost. Again recognized mount. It's might be too much, but i thought it could be a good idea Edited November 17, 2016 by Ragiral

Zenslash 2 Report post Posted November 18, 2016 It's a nice idea and you have thought about some good examples, but I personally prefer a clean experience, without such gimmicks, which also seems to be the reason why this project has become so popular in the first place.
Storfan 24 Report post Posted November 18, 2016 The reason Nostalrius got so popular was because they had NONE of this trash. This is a bad suggestion and you should feel bad. Gimmicky фекал like rewards for doing фекал outside the game is part of what made retail cancer.
Kazuma 11 Report post Posted November 19, 2016 (edited) No rewards no nothing. Edited November 19, 2016 by Kazuma
Kontraz 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2016 I'd rather just have a clean start without any virtuel 'goodies'. It might just be cosmetic, but it would go against what this server stands for. Generally a nice idea, but not in this case, not for these servers.
Docholy 4 Report post Posted November 23, 2016 Yes a reward is in order. A free monthly subscription.
Frylord 4 Report post Posted November 23, 2016 I can only speak for myself, but one of the main reasons I played on Nost was due to the fact it had zero cancer that most private servers suffer from. No free gold / items / riding skill / mount, etc from voting, donating or being BFF with a GM. It wasn't just the amazing scripting the people behind Nost achieved that made the server so popular, and OP clearly doesn't understand this. Storfan is right OP, this is a terrible suggestion and you should be ashamed.
Nemebetas 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2016 To be fair Ragiral the project is pretty clear in it's ambitions to be Blizzlike. I am certain i speak for 99.9% of the Nostalrius community when i say that the introduction of vanity items and rewards is a horrific idea and one that illustrates how little comprehension you have of the Nostalrius project as a whole. I understand this seems quite harsh and you are going to get flamed for making this post but it is somewhat ignorant of you to make these suggestions. All the best though.
Destron 2 Report post Posted November 24, 2016 This server is a time capsule. Expect that and I think you will have a great time, it's a wormhole to a time past.

Undertanker 88 Report post Posted November 25, 2016 Maybe donation tiers for real life items such as a coffee mug / water bottle / keychain / mouse pad of the project/server name. Not sure if that opens the door for legal issues, however out of game items may encourage people to donate a larger sum at once to meet one of these tiers.
Nirraven 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2016 Why all have to offend anyone if they don't agree with something... I also disagree with the OP but thats no reason for harassing somebody. I think a merchant shop wiht mousepads, t-shirts and much more would be a good idea. However i'll just donate frequently
Kazuma 11 Report post Posted November 25, 2016 We're rather sensitive about things that messed up vanilla wow. Lets try to keep it that way.
Xykaru 1 Report post Posted November 29, 2016 There's a reason us old bastards and bitches love Vanilla. We were there from the start, fell in love, and witnessed the downfall of the game first hand. This is a way for us to go back to that classic simple world we grew to love and miss so dearly. If you've never played Vanilla before, you're in for a surprise.
