Does Nost allow Graphical improvement Mods?

Getting upset about peoples opinion of your opinion doesn't help in trying to further your conversation. However, in the case of character model editing, they have already taken a stance on it, and it would be in the best interest to respect the stance this staff has taken. As I said previous, if you HAVE to have character model changes or the game is ruined for you, then you are by all means free to play on a Private server, or retail, that allows the new model edits.

I don't think anyone here who advocates for model editing does think of it as essential, only as a great improvement, if eventually allowed. Take a look at my original post, I explain there why I think it would improve people's experiences. The staff's stance is indeed respected, but are we (the community) not welcome to ask for changes?

 

Regarding Shayss, I probably shouldn't bother to reply to you anymore, but here goes a last attempt at getting through that brick you call a head:

 I asked, and still do, that eventually model editing is allowed. I stated, and still do, that if it does not affect the gameplay experience of others and all it does is change my personal visual experience, then it should be allowed.

 You, however, state that it will lead to "free epics" and that anyone who would like these models must go play retail, for it contains everything they desire! Clearly, you have not read a single paragraph I wrote, or you are unable to comprehend them. Either way, I don't really care. Telling others to "go play Legion" is rather infantile of you, I suggest you work on your arguments in the future, or don't exchange them at all.

This reminds me of a recent post on a retail forum, where this person thought they had a wonderful idea for WoW.The idea was for mount races and there was something to do with pvp but they didn't really explain where the pvp came into it.

 

Their reasoning was that it was a cool idea and that we all enjoyed things like super mario and so why not in WoW. It's pretty obvious thast the person didn't really know what the game is supposed to be about. In the old days they would have been laughed off the forum for that kind of suggestion.

 

People, who know what a game is supposed to be about, don't make suggestions like these.

That statement has never been addressed with any logical response. Pointing people to play Legion is a supremely lazy way to respond. There isn't a logical response to deter people from suggesting it.

 

I do not buy that the developers don't have a way to differentiate from an accepted mod vs a malicious one. Now if you were to say, right now our focus is on getting the servers up and running in a acceptable manor. That is a proper response. But to just berate people and push them out of the community is a recipe for an insular community.

Insular is good. A group of people who want vanilla is good. It sounds to me more like you guys are the ones who want to push your agenda onto Vanilla.

 

Preference was also answered btw, if you prefer Vanilla then come Vanilla. If you prefer Legion then go Legion.

 

For people who think of themselves as intelligent you don't seem very smart in the choice department. I mean, it is there, you both ignore it and choose to push your agenda onto, what I hope to be, an "insular community", as Destron said.

 

I was even so nice as to give you a list of pros that you would like in Legion.

You really have no clue how bad you make yourself look here. You are equating someone showing interest in an updated model to people wanting to play retail. That leap cannot be explained.

 

Stop and think about the type of person who is even browsing this forum, let alone registered and making posts. They are 100% interested in the Vanilla experience. Why would they be here if they weren't? Granted some are probably trolls but that number is so low it shouldn't be considered.

I personally love the new models and would like the development team to consider making an exception for similar preferences. It's quite similar to playing a Legend of Zelda game utilizing Unreal Engine. Same game, different looks. Having played the vanilla WoW up until WotLK, adding an HD effect would create a unique atmosphere that I'm sure a large portion of the vanilla fan base would take an interest in. 

 

Having different tastes in models doesn't even correlate with retail fandom what so ever. Anyone who suggests otherwise shouldn't be taken seriously. Heck, I wasn't even playing WoW when they first introduced the new models.

 

On a final note, the fact that this thread hasn't been closed yet indicates they're still making a decision on this issue. I for one hope they consider creating a whitelist for such preferences.

Ok. tell you what, if they come and say "We will allow you to change gamefiles" (that is what this is going to come down too) then I will appologise to you and Destron Unequivocally.

 

If they say "We will not be allowing anything to change game files" then you can appologise to me, especially since I'm not sure you know what this project is about.
