Development Update 12.15.2016

Recommended Posts

Can you elaborate on a few things?

Dire Maul

  • Improved scripts for many bosses and mobs in Dire Maul.

Does this mean that Dire Maul North Tribute will continue to be NON-SOLOABLE for Hunters? It was soloable during early Nost days, and then patched in a non-blizz-like manner to be non-soloable.

Juju Might no longer stacks with Winterfall Firewater.

Will Juju Might continue to provide an AP buff for ranged attacks? Will the Dire Maul Attack Power Buff also continue to work for ranged attacks?

Thank you!

Mechanics

  • Players and NPCs can no longer obtain Holy resistance by any means. (level-based resists and general spell hit rules still apply to Holy spells)
  • Elemental school melee attacks now ignore the damage reduction from armor and can no longer crush or be blocked.

Classes & Abilities

  • Paladins
    • Seal of Command’s proc now benefits from Sanctity Aura and has a small delay when triggered.
    • Fixed the scaling of Seal of Righteousness.
    • Seal of Righteousness can now trigger mainhand weapon procs.

Items

  • Fixed an exploit with Prismcharm.

/Kind regards Killerduki

I wonder if the bug where certain abilities like Arcane Crystal/Consecration are still taking up invisible debuff slots. They were the last time I remember playing on NOSt.

that was already previously fixed on nost

I see a major issue right now. You are incorrectly patching Consecration. It wasn't until patch 2.0.1 (05-Dec-2006) in BC that this change happened. Source here: http://wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Consecration This is a major issue that needs to be changed.

EDIT: Because link didn't work.

Def not vanilla, please fix bebe.

I just went searching into blizzards patch archives and its possible it is actually incorrect. I actually did not find anything about that change listed on the patch cited. I apologize.

The wowiki about paladin consecration was added by someone trolling the Private server community. It was not blizzlike, and was a known bug on Nost. Glad they fixed it!

yea if you look at the wowwiki edits - it was written in by a player well after TBC came out - and from personal experience and knowledge I can say that it wasn't until WotLK that Consecration scaled with AP

through Vanilla and TBC it only scaled with spell dmg and/or Judgement of the Crusader

that being said, using Seal of the Crusader + Consecration was fun and a nice alternative to use in place of bugged and not working Seal of Command

now that we have a working Seal of Command we can use our actual blizzlike abilities

Do actual REAL research before posting random "stuff" (damn censored)...

Wowwiki source is a joke but even in the joke u can see the contradiction 2 lines below...

The trinket will also now burn charges from each casting of a damage over time spell, heal over time spell, and area aura spells such as Blizzard and Consecration

^the mentioned trinket is the CASTER version of ZG trinket, the ZHC... How do you explain that? Wanna make it scale from both?

How bout instead you find a 1.12 or lower version video on youtube where a ret paladins consecration damage increases after a crusader proc?

Good luck with that... cuz plenty are there where it doesn't and that were linked in this bugs report.

"Consecration

Coefficient

The coefficient have been the same From release to nowadays. Except, weirdly, in TBC expansion patches.

Consecration deals 32% of bonus spell damage, and 32% of Attack Power, distributed evenly among 8 seconds.

The damage done can be increased by up to 10 % with the protection talent One-Handed Weapon Specialization."

How can you be that sure? The vanilla wiki page is also telling it scaled with both, spellpower and attack power by 32% each "From release to nowdays. Except, weirdly, in TBC expansion patches."

Also the patchnotes of 2.0.1 are incomplete, there were changes to consecration in this patch like ppl on wowhead mentioned in the comments.

"Commented by Everclarity

In patch 2.0.1, Consecration was changed to a trainable spell at level 20, with new ranks trainable every 10 levels, just as before. In the holy talent tree, Consecration has been replaced by an Aura Mastery talent, which increases the radius of the Paladin's Auras to 40 yards."

"Comment by Atomicmuffin
Since this spell as of Patch 2.0.1 is trainable at level 20 and no longer requires a taent point it should be obtained and used by all paladins...."

So there are hints about changes to consecration with TBC release (or short before) but you wont find anything about these changes in the patchnotes.

I think this stuff need some serious research and not (probably) flawed memories of old players.

On the plus side, maybe now we can use Quel'Serrar again. No more tiny knives. Finally tanks will look badass!

"Swords are for show, knives for a pro".

Yes that weapon is for sure relanvant again.  TF is king once again, and with the proc fixes of shield slam/bash and MH instant attacks, Deathbringer is really good too, since Vis'Kags will be going to DPS, and are going to be dropping much less with the Onxyia loot table fix.

All the 1.3 speed weapon + 15 agil tanks, time to get a real tank weapon and put Crusader on it.

Also Impale spec won't be as good since it will really only help with Shield Slam, since heroic strike will be used much rarely.   Time to bring back 8/5/38 since imp Sunder is going to be a must, and imp taunt is gonna help too.

About the shaman threat thing, is it a nerf to shaman tanks or a buff? I did tank a few dungeons so I was wondering :P

It is a buff.  Extra threat wasn't working properly.

@Undertanker: http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#LVhL0hbZcZxizoeMzVo (Impale,WWs,ImpTaunt+Sunder)

Eh, for 5 mans, I could see it.  But I won't WW much MTing to miss out on 10 def which I could talent for and then take more hit/crit gear if and when needed.   Though we can break these specifics down in the Warrior Class sub-forum.

Edit:  It is a good spec, don't get me wrong, but I'd prefer to talent the 10 def points and be able to use DMC: Maelstrom in conjunction with TF, rather than have to make up the def by using Onxyia Talisman.

Yes thank you! This should up the difficulty of a lot of encounters should it not? And buff some class abilities and make that lupos I leveled to 60 actually worth it.
