Nordheims 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2017 Hi! Just before i get real good into vanilla again i wanna make sure that i dont loose my long hard worked progress. So the question is.. can blizzard force them to shutdown again? like the thing that happened to Nostalrius? Would be a waste to progress up to 60, get the gear up and then just loose everything.. :)

Nordheims 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2017 Legion sucks. That`s why im going to vanilla again. I think you got my point :) Would be pretty sad to just loose everything after a half a year of progress :)
Wirago 8 Report post Posted January 6, 2017 Well, basically they can. BUT. Back then, the Nost-Team decided to close their servers. They were not really forced to. The Elysium-Team said, they will not shut the servers down like Nost did. And actually, there are so many servers out there and Blizzard does not give a sh*t. I don't think they will shutdown so quickly, so enjoy the game :)

cybaster 31 Report post Posted January 6, 2017 It's theoretically possible. My feng shui (particularly my sofa cushions) indicated such an endeavor would be disharmonious in a way not at all advantageous to Blizzard, however. I cast some tea leaves this morning as well, and they seemed to suggest that Blizzard is actually observing this community at large as a no-risk means of gauging how viable classic servers really are in the long term.
Sundanc_r 19 Report post Posted January 6, 2017 if you enjoy your time, its not wasted nobody can tell the future, even blizz could shut down its server tomorrow
Scambug 9 Report post Posted January 6, 2017 Of course, this is a private server. Blizzard prosecuting is just one of the many things that could lead to the server shutting down. Progress isn't important, having fun while you're playing is what's important. At least this is the mind frame I advise you to have when playing on private servers, that way if everything goes poof you'll stay with the memory of all the fun you had instead of QQing over everything you've lost.
Killershama 2 Report post Posted January 6, 2017 They could, but the elysium team isnt going down without a fight. Plus Blizzard would need to be careful of the backlash, the media will be all over them like last time.
toniplavna 20 Report post Posted January 6, 2017 Host the servers in Russia=profit.
Crowley 8 Report post Posted January 6, 2017 I really don't see Blizzard daring to poke this hornets nest again. It kinda blew up in their face last time. (Even though I believe Nost decided to shut-down by choice, not fear of Blizzard)

Oriomnu 1 Report post Posted January 7, 2017 (edited) Blizzard can request to the server owner to shut it down,but...let's just say the owner's nationality is an important thing that Nostalrius team probably considered this time. I wouldn't worry too much about Blizzard. P.S. : Thank you Russia :) Edited January 7, 2017 by Oriomnu
