Make Zeth"Khur NO VPN's Please

Recommended Posts

This new realm will just be ridiclously full with 3,000+ using VPN's to do what they do best.  If the new realm is no VPN it will actually not have some ridiclous 6 hour que and actually be worth implementing.

Forgive me if I'm missing something obvious here, but what exactly would this alleviate?

most VPNs are used to hide/mask illegal behaviour. it obviously it not its source, but it supports illegal activity and its commiter a lot. thats why theres no reason to not ban them.

pls dont make a VPN discussion be about china again. VPN is NOT a synonym for china

You won't know that i'm playing over a VPN if i don't tell you i am.

You know theres no sirene going off or the Clients screams at the Server "I AM USING A VPN".

well most people who get banned just get a VPN and change their ID..so an VPN would mean no hackers / gold farmers who've been busted back again.  But it prolly wont happen.

That's why they ban accounts.

What the hell is a Zeh'Kur?

Zeth'kur was a town that existed before the shattering of Draenor. It was the location of the orcish shipyards on Hellfire Peninsula during the Invasion of Draenor. The town, its shipyards and the warships stationed there were destroyed by the Alliance Expedition forces that crossed into Draenor.

I just spit my 2% milk all over my screen while reading this.

I am going to roll Horde now on Zeth'kur because fuck those filthy dirty Alliance forces .... all those poor orc people in that town. I will avenge them.

They were evil mongrels, we just put them out of their missery.

You guys are aware that your IP changes all the Time? Maybe every Night, maybe once a Year.

You need to pay extra for your ISP to reserve a certain IP to you. If they IP Ban someone it could be another Guy tomorrow.

Well it is if you use a cheap free VPN, because these IPs are mostly reserved and always the same. You can find a IP List with known Free VPNs. If you use a real VPN tho where you pay a couple Bucks (Elysium please make a Paypal so i can throw in some Bucks for Coffee and Hookers) they're not really possible to detect.

I don't think English is your first language and I'm having a hard time understanding what you are saying.

First of all all a VPN does is hide your real IP address, and that's it. There are MANY legit reasons to use a VPN, the most obvious one is it makes browsing the web safer. The reason why someone who is hacking/cheating would want to use a VPN is because if they are caught and banned they can just connect to a new VPN and start over.

Now the suggestion to ban everyone who uses a VPN is just ridiculous and is no different then banning everyone who has Logitech Gaming Software on their computer because you can create macro's with it.

Again this is not true and a easy way to show this is look at Netflix. You are no longer able to use Netflix while using a VPN

FTFY.  Netflix only bans (because it's only possible to ban) known VPN providers.  Hackers typically use shady/dark-net VPN providers and are much harder to detect.

If you ban VPN's (and possibly an unsaid region of asian aspects), they'll lose a big portion of the playerbase and suddenly the server doesn't seem to be one of the most popular servers on the server lists again!

so that s a no no

Chinese players have to use VPNs to play on the server because their country does not allow them to connect to it. So it would prevent the Chinese goldsellers from using the server.

multilog

You can multilog without a VPN...

Unless you're sandboxing with software like VMWare, you're going to be very hard pressed to have 2 clients open on the same computer with one connection going through your default IP while the other instance of the game goes through VPN...

So basically, VPN doesn't correlate to multilogging...
