Lopherus 4 Report post Posted February 9, 2017 (edited) It is my understanding that all realms use 1.12.1. talent trees, in worlds otherwise (items, raids, etc.) on earlier patches slowly progressing to 1.12.x. Patch 1.11. introduced Talent Respec Cost Decay. What does this mean for Elysium? Do talent respec costs decay, as they should based on the talent trees used; or will they only in the future, when the progressive world has reached patch 1.11.? If this is up for debate, I would much appreciate some decay - it's perfectly (vanilla) blizz-like. The pre-decay world was unduly harsh on those appreciating both raiding and serious PvP, or those just mis-clicking when choosing a talent. If we use 1.12.1. talent trees, it seems only proper to apply the related decay rules too. Edited February 9, 2017 by Lopherus
Storfan 24 Report post Posted February 9, 2017 I'm pretty sure there is decay, though I havnt respecced for a long time. I wasnt aware that there wasnt a decay in early vanilla, was it really so?
Nelythia 44 Report post Posted February 9, 2017 There is a respec decay already. Just recently my respec costs went down from 50g to 25g.
Revo 34 Report post Posted February 9, 2017 i vote for removing the decay unless the server actually reached patch 1.11.!

They even polled people recently and the majority of players don't want progressive mechanics, just content.

Oakenlix 79 Report post Posted February 9, 2017 I never even knew such decay existed. Could someone explain how exactly it works?
Zodish 1 Report post Posted February 9, 2017 The cost to unlearn talents will decay over time. This cost will be reduced by a rate of 5 gold per month to a minimum of 10 gold. this is how it works.

Well, 5g per month is pretty much insignificant anyway.
hakoon 3 Report post Posted February 9, 2017 That's why I think one of the best and only good feature that are not blizzlike on another well known vanilla project was to cap the talent respec to 10g max. As a warrior, you can't expect to pvp at a decent level and tank during raiding nights. Therefore, ''respeccing'' is kinda a must betweeen raid times... But at a 50g it's almost impossible... Same for many classes (paladins would want to respec to retribution during AV time or when farming, when they arent raiding). Anyways, there isn't anything we can do about it other than paying or not respeccing :)

hakoon 3 Report post Posted February 10, 2017 (edited) LOL no idea why you tell me this. I've never played Legion nor any WoW expensions past WotlK. Good try tho. Decisions matters have nothing to do about that fact. People wants to fully experience the gameplay of WoW. Not just one aspect of it. There is PvP on one side and PVE on the other one. I think we should be able to enjoy both without having to go bankrupt for it. Edited February 10, 2017 by hakoon
Leytere 1 Report post Posted February 10, 2017 (edited) But there are people (like me or revo) who don't want it, so i think it's better to stay "vanilla like" that way less people are pissed off, if you start to change things there will always be people who love one change and other who hate it. Lopherus 4 Report post Posted February 10, 2017 Thanks everyone for clarifying that Elysium currently has patch 1.11. style decay!
Storfan 24 Report post Posted February 10, 2017 I'm guessing the reasoning for not having the decay removed pre-emptively would be the very fact that it's tied to talent specs and talent specs are infact 1.12.1. For example, before BWL warriors didnt shieldslam.
