Remove buffs when entering a raid instance

Recommended Posts

So people have complained about the level of difficulty here and I assume AQ40 will be cleared in a day.  I propose that all buffs with flasks being the exception, be wiped when entering a raid and this includes all the op world buffs. This would effectively nerf player output instead of trying to buff the content itself.

Congrats on having the worst idea ever. ever.

And why on earth will you world buff for a opening raid? people die , buffs wasted or only last the first couple of raid hours (even if you manage not to die)

that wont fix anything it will only remove half the fun.

Most "good" guilds will clear MC or BWL well within the 2h span that the worldbuffs last, hell, some will even clear BOTH.

from what i understood  he was refering to the new enconters the server opens up , farm status is the place to use them huge buffs and just push the limits of your group... after the content is down the most fun we can get out of it is pushing your class as far as possible and aim for speed runs.

What ever his intention was, it's un-blizzlike and thats cancer.

"Blizzlike" doesn't exist anymore and I'm tired of hearing that trope.  You're high If you think guilds won't go into AQ with full world buffs to help cheese encounters to try to get server firsts.

Any other constructive thoughts on this issue?

I never said they wouldnt get buffs. Ofcourse they will, as will my guild. Also, Even if the server isnt Blizzlike in every single detail, it IS ITS MAIN GOAL TO BE!

You could do it in vanilla, and you can do it here too. That should be enough for you to drop the stupid idea.

How exactly is using buffs that were readily available to players back in retail cheesing encounters?

This suggestion is bad and you should feel bad.

You are all missing the point... The idea is to make content more of a challenge instead of a boring walk through.  Are you all really against making things more difficult?

Doesnt matter if people want it more difficult or not. Your suggestion blows, and would remove a lot of fun from the game.

Gathering world buffs is a big part of vanilla raiding, removing them wouldnt make anything harder, just less fun for those going for speedclears.

I didn't realize that you cannot speed clear without world buffs.  Oh wait, you can.  I'm looking ahead at later content and making them more challenging and fun.  That is > than speed clearing

worldbuffs are great in terms of progression. u get 1 full buffed try, thats exciting.

if they wanna make stuff harder, they should buff bosses.

Whether you think Blizzlike is a trope or not, it's what Eylsium is going for. You might find changes to make raids more difficult on CF when it releases, but it's never going to happen here.

Remove world buffs in zoning a raid <=> Black lotus on AH for 100g. Those things do not fit.

Way to miss the point. removing world bosses does NOTHING for making content harder except for when you already cleared them a few times.

But that is NOT when it should be hard. Progress is where difficulty matter, since then you run in with low gear, and wipe, worldbuffs don't help when you wipe, cause gathering them over again just slows down your progress.

Removing world buffs does nothing than slow down people who have cleared the instance several times, where they are at the point where they don't wipe anymore.

Also if the difference between a kill and a wipe early on in progression is having world buffs then your raid wont have world buffs for very long.

The world buffs aren't exactly much help for progression as it takes a while to get those buffs. It takes 10-15 minutes for a group to get the tribute buffs if they have warlocks with tons of shards standing at the instance, at least 8 priests to mind soothe, and at least 8 people that can tank tribute. It takes around half an hour to get the tribute buffs if you aren't so fortunate to have the three things listed. Also there is pretty much no way that you will be able to reliably have the Ony and Hakkar buffs as those are a one time turn in. The only raid that the tribute buffs would be worth considering for progression is Naxx.

Actually I'm pretty sure that you have missed the point.  You're argueing that guilds don't use world buffs to progress which is ludicrous because I know for a fact that they have to push through content like princess huhu and patchwerk.

#MakeContentHardAgain

Oh, and it only takes one tribute clear to buff a guild.  Getting world buff takes 30 minutes tops... Not too hard of a feat for a pair of crutches.

World buffs were designed for being that extra little push to beat harder bosses when your raid needs just a little more dps to kill something. The bosses you mentioned there are prime examples of bosses which were designed for world buffs.

What you are missing, is that people who needs worldbuffs to beat those bosses, are not good enough to faceroll the rest of the raid.

Also, you are really overestimating the power of the buffs, if you think that these buffs are what make people able to roll over a raid instance the first day they release.

Gathering all raid buffs take roughly one hour if you include dm buffs and traveltime. if you gonna do that for every boss you are progressing on. You are not not gonna clear stuff very fast
