Gank Scene - am I missing something?

Recommended Posts

Just want to make sure I'm not missing something about the state of open world play on this server. As I see it, Horde PvPers grossly outnumber Alliance PvPers, which leaves tens or hundreds of PvP minded Horde in BG queues throughout the day, every day. Those horde now travel in groups in all zones where alliance quest or travel and repeatedly gank, in groups, usually 3 or 5 versus 1. It is now nearly impossible to play the game on the alliance side level 50-60 unless you're in an instance.

Am I missing something? I realize there's not really anything to be done, PvP is PvP and all. I'm just curious whether other alliance 50-60 (or even at 60) are having the same experience.

Sounds fun!! (not!!)

I may have missed it...I know there was a poll asking about who wanted to transfer..I believe it was about who wanted to transfer from Zeth to Ely...but...did they ever ask Elysium players if they wanted to move to Zeth?

I know its too late...but if the staff did not....they dropped the ball big time. I have a feeling the overpopulation of Elysium is worse than the under population of Zeth.

While finding groups can be a pain on Zeth sometimes...I find that easier to deal with than the nightmare that is Elysium.

When the numbers drop about after a month after the transfer...I guess they will have their answer.

Not looking forward to this....

Alliance do the same thing to the horde , you just have to suffer through it.

Over Population on Elysium is this a joke - the whole reason nost was a success was that MASSIVE community it had and that was on peak 13k  and a average of 10k.

that is what makes these servers so attractive is playing the vanilla content with a huge population instead of a small one.

Zeth'Kur's existence was to mitigate Elysium's high pop.  It was a decent idea but a failure.  People chose Elysium over zeth and that's why zeth failed.

Asking why the devs didn't ask players if they wanted to go from ely to zeth would be redundant, they already created the option and it didn't pan out.

Thank you for the quick response Hurricane2.

I was hoping there were enough people that joined Elysium between now and Zeth was formed  (december?) that decided that a large /populated realm wasn't the experience they wanted...thus maybe wanting a move to Zeth.

I lust loved Zeth...but everyone is right...the population is too low there for pretty much doing anything group related.

It's bad, but not as bad as you make it out to be. You just have to use your brains a little. Try to do stuff outside of the most popular questing areas. Also at level 50ish you can still gain semi-decent XP from even L45 mobs, so you don't have to go to those 50+ zones at the absolute minimum required level. Protip: there are a few REALLY good spots with L45ish mobs for alliance to grind.

You're kind of talking past my post. I described the state of the world where alliance "quest or travel", and you said to go farm green mobs in a corner somewhere. I am aware of the many spots for that. My point here is that the best questing areas and major thoroughfares for 50-60 alliance are basically shut off, or so it seems to me. Your post just confirms.

I've leveled 2 chars to 60 on Elysium and I have absolutely no clue what you're talking about.  You need to go to winterspring, un'goro, silithus, and epl because you clearly haven't been there yet based on your comments.

I have been to those. Un'Goro wasn't too bad. Maybe it's my play times or just bad luck. I'll give those zones another try.

Just an aside, maybe don't say what people "clearly" have and have not done when you don't know what they've done and have only your own experience and inferences to draw on.

I spend time in epl every single day and that zone is not shut off as you stated it to be thus I said what I said because I knew what you said was incorrect.

Thanks, all, for confirming that there is no point to making a post seeking information on this forum. You guys are amazing at WoW. The best!!!! So glad to be sharing this server with you! But learn to read please.

You got info and feedback.  You just didn't like it.  The fact is horde does not grossly out number alliance and there are plenty of areas to lvl 50-60 with minimal to no ganking.

The difference you state here is clear.

Horde 60s go out in the world and kill lvl 50-60 players, while alli 60s go to STV and kill lvl 30-40 hordes ^^

L-O-L

You do realize that when you provide players with a clear motive to farm honor on lower level players, like is the case with Horde pvp rank pushers in 50+ zones it turns into a completely different issue than random ally ganking for fun or revenge in STV. The fact that you don't realize the difference here is just a testament to the fact that you have absolutely _no idea_ what is going on in the world pvp scene on this server.

it hlghly depends on the servertime. if you play from 1pm - 7pm servertime you shouldnt have much trouble leveling.

There is no more fun then making gankers in STV log off.

No, it doesn't. Lifting makes you stronger. Leveling Alliance on Elysium makes you quit the game.

I went to 60 2x and can verify that this comment is bullshit.
