Level 54 as Ally - regreting it :(

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

This post is just to vent out some frustration

I'm a long time WoW player - 8 years in total, and always Horde

When i started here on Ely (ZK) i decided to go Alliance for a change, and at the beginning it was a blast! It felt like a totally different game, zones i've never explored before, quests, dungeons, etc.

But now i regret it a lot =( i miss undercity, the "darker" atmosphere on Horde side, miss Orgrimmar, some quests, and above all, being undead.

I know there is nothing preventing me from rolling a new char and start over, but with the limited amount of time i have to play (took me almost 3 months to get to lvl 54) i don't feel like doing it, which is sad, because i really want to play the game.

Anyone else feel the same?

So yeah, thats it, nothing special about this post, just wanted to express my feelings here at the forums and maybe find some comfort is some fellow player words.

Cya!

It always makes me confused when people say they miss or like Orgrimmar.  It's like the worst designed city in the game.

Nostalgia maybe? =p

Also the fact that i know where every NPC is in every Horde Major City =x

I went alliance by chance and it's really worked out since I mainly PvP and the small horde over alliance pop imbalance gets us insta bg queues and plenty of wpvp.

Meh not really. I spent release until wrath as horde, then went ally to help a friends guild then back to horde with them in tow.

Have a 60 horde but its nice to have the other side to so over half way with a ally toon.

+ its nice to be different, im not an edgy teen anymore whos going horde because they think its cool to be an undead rogue

So you wanna one of the emo kids with an undead mage? :)

A wise man once said the only solution is to reroll  "A SEXY HAIRY DWARF!" pick the hunter class.

"You will also need a proper spec: Beast mastery! Dont listen to those who say it sucks. They just perfectly know, that you will crush the

like a real monster truck!" yeah!

But Orgrimmar has the best place in WoW - the bank roof.

Lol, I had the exact same thought earlier. I've always been playing horde as well, decided I'd switch things up this time, going alliance to make leveling more interesting. I'm slowly regretting it haha.. Miss the horde hotspots and atmosphere!

It happens the other way round as well.

It has to do with the nostalgia of when we started playing the game and were exploring it for the first time.

Nothing else compares to that feeling and that's why we keep playing it in 2017: to relive that excitement.

Unfortunately, those times are gone and the feeling will never be the same again.

I remember back circa 10yrs ago I had made 5 lvl 85 chars (all ally) and my friends in my guild said, lets the same guidl over in the horde world. It never felt the same, it felt empty and lonely and even though I loved the Blood Elves, I could never quite get the same excitement as when I logged back into my ally NE Rogue.

Nostalgia definitely has something to do with, but its also familiarity. I knew which quests I wanted to do, which were a pain and didnt want to do. Also, I just had many more friends to rely on (not just from my guild).

Here on Darrowshire, Ive rolled my ally army again, and dont regret it, but have changed my questing areas for a change, all my chars are in SW (my least favourite city) but I wanted the challenge of new quests. I havent regretted it but I know how some of you feel when trying new races/factions.

Cmon man. You're sick of the cheapass Horde gankers that are OF NO PARTICULAR RACE Or COUNTRY OF ORIGIN....(Definitely not China)....from camping every flight path in the game farming you for honor. Amirite?

I mostly played alliance in retail and plenty of hoard too but definitely majority alliance.

I wanted to roll hoard on this server but when i saw the slight (as said above) population advantage the hoard has it forced my hand and i stuck with old-faithful alliance.

No regrets.  It has definitely worked out well so far.  But if i did roll that hoard i could definitely see myself having those same feelings as OP (missing the nostalgia of what i know better).

I'll roll a hoardie on here some day too.

Ya I did same thing and got a lock to 20 and was like f this i know all the hordes routes and so much easier to level

stopping at 20 is the worst, up until that the zones are different and usually non-contested, after that the zones and quests start to get meshed/mixed and most zone become almost the same, only the bases/flightmasters are at different locations, but if you knew routes as horde, thes usually the same as alliance, just the quests are different sometimes. Instances/dungeons also start to be the same (wailing/DM are faction only but BFD ScarletMonastery etc are shared... there are only rare exceptions like stockade)

BTW I'm same with alliance, I like the colorfullness and Orgrimmar/Underciy was always depressing for me and too confusing. :)

I have mostly always played Alliance, initially simply because my friends rolled Alliance in 2005 and I wanted to join them. I often get excited about being horde and getting to play an orc or undead. On several occasions I even got so far as hitting level 60 and raiding. However, I see a glorious human paladin or night elf hunter and I remember how much I miss the Alliance. Stormwind and Ironforge just feel like home.

After playing horde on Elysium since it launched I recently flew my orc warrior to Booty Bay, make a human, swam the toon to booty bay, and sent over a few hundred gold to get started as a hero of the Alliance once more.

My point is, each to their own. After 12+ years of playing this game I have finally come to terms with the fact that I like playing human or night elf, and will either roll a warrior, paladin, hunter, or warlock. Anything outside of that and I will find myself getting similar feelings to the OP.

You'll be happy with Alliance when you work your AV rep and do raids. Alliance own this game at 60. But some people don't care about difficulty. (Horde=hard mode raiding)

Dunno why but playing horde for 8+ years i can confirm that it is not the case only here, in general, hordies have some brain issues .-.

But now at lvl 57, after the xfer to elysium, i'm pretty satisfied to be an ally Rogue: toons of hordies to kill on the plaguelands! :P

This.

SW/IF >>>>>>> Orgri

Lets see Org is better than alliance just due to the fact that EVERYTHING is there. You have pvp vendors, ony head buff there, rend head buff there. Far more centralized than alliance, where most of them hang out in IF, but you have to go to SW to get ony buffs and pvp potions.

Ogri >>>>>>>>>> SW/IF

That's some awful generalization. I don't see how on every server Alliance 'owns' the game. It sure as hell isn't the players. There are skilled ones in both factions.
