[Lag every weekend] Server does not support the population?

No, view distance isn't lag, but that was the only way they could manage the population. Nost was pretty horrible in that regard, I would much prefer lower population then you don't have to worry about view distance OR lag.

Correct.  The view distance was cut down in order to reduce lag...which was there in the first place because of the overpopulation.  Same underlying problem with a different end result.

Are we seriously discussing wether the server lags or not?

I don't like to use the word "unplayable" but try any melee class on BGs when the server is "struggling" and it is UNPLAYABLE, and I mean every letter of the word, and the caps.

And remember Elysium is a PvP server.

The only part of the low view distance that bothered me was how it made mind vision useless in WSG and AB.

Elysium changed hardware this year Feb/March time was it?To make the server more stable.However I felt that the old hardware was better because at 7-8k their was very little lag.Cuz when Elysium server launched their was 10k+ people online and it wasn't that bad and when they changed the hardware it is worse.

I miss ZK intensively each time Ely randomly goes down for 10-50 mins, which at this point is happening literally every single morning and during every single raid.

And it's not like that's the only inconvenience, a full 1 second delay on all skills despite having 15 MS is giving me dick cancer.

 

I remember directly after server merges people and devs were like "oh haha it's usually not like this, just a bad week" but holy shit it's gotten WORSE. I want to say I've gotten used to it by now but I haven't. I'm at the point where I actively avoid the PTR because the zero lag conditions there intensify the feeling of absolute disgusting fucking unresponsive laggy piece of shit trash garbage can on Elysium when I go back, that's how terrible it is.

It's intereseting how some people don't have any lag at all in 'lag peak hours'

Maybe server lags for certain players at certain times? Like everyone has to eat his piece of lag at certain time?

 Im not so sure about that. I was taking a fair amount of melee damage on my Warlock and died with the usual frequency when the lag was at its peak. I switched to my warrior for a few bgs and was only putting out about 10% of the dps I should have been.  I was constantly told I was too far away when I was right on top of them.  Some of the melees attacking my warlock in the previous bgs were obviously not having the same problems.
