PREMADING IS A HUGE PROBLEM...

Recommended Posts

@reaganThere are very few premade groups on Elysium on both factions and they usually end up facing each other.  Basically none of what you complain about exists and makes me wonder how  you come to such a negative opinion on something that is not an issue to begin with.  I pug the majority of my games and as long as more than one person isn't afk  (which I constantly remind ppl in game that afk is banable and I get flamed remarkably often) it's quite competitive and fun.  Even the few times i face a premade as a pug we put a hurting on them as long as people don't roll over (which is also banable).

Premaders are so full of themselves - im already wearing my big boy pants so flame away all you like.

Facts:

1) Premading did happen on Retail Vanilla, it was usually for 4-6 hours a day and as a pug you came across a premade less than 10% of the time.

2) When premading started to get really serious, and people understood the ranking brackets and started to push the boundaries blizzard blew up the entire system and created buying items with honor - during vanilla.

3) It never got even 1/4 as bad on retail as its been on Nost/Anathema/Elysium. This is a failure of the leadership of the project to correctly address this issue from launch. They are too afraid of 50-100 people who actively Rank to realize the 100,000 other players have given up on PvP (a key tenant of the game) and ultimately get bored and quit.

4) Premading as it currently stands on Elysium does not require any skill, it doesnt even require you to be friends with anyone and it certainly hasnt created a vibrant close nit community. Its created a group of people who follow instructions to sit at certain honor caps and rank. Sorry Premaders but your not the best, most skilled PvP'ers on the server - those people either quit or gave up because its no fun afk'ing to farm honor. When you DO come across another premade you wintrade while trying your hardest not to look like your wintrading instead of engaging that Premade and having fun fighting each other.

5) The same small group of people who control the PvP ranking are also hyper active on the forums and will flame anyone who threatens to disrupt their syndicate. The sad thing is, they arnt having fun, they arnt enjoying the game and a huge % of them burn out and quit. You defend something you dont even like doing all because you want the epics that come along with ranking. But what are you going to do with those epics? your not going to enjoy PvP with them.....

If you cant accept that the premades are fundamentally hurting the project then you need to step back a bit. Ask why are these posts made so frequently by people who just want to PvP for the fun of PvP? This isnt about me not being good enough to get into a premade, or me needing to get a life and make friends. This is about the fact that a small group of people, less than 0.1% of the population is engaging in a behavior that is fundamentally weakening the entire community. Its not against the ToU, i dont have a solution for the problem but it is a problem and to pretend it isn't is ridiculous.

FUCKING FINALLY SOMEONE WHO GETS IT!!

I don't know who you are, or which char do you play with...but damn dude i like you! :D Put this guy for president!

The problem appeared when Blizzard limited the the % of players that could access certain items of the game, the best ones to worsen it more. It didn't matter how hard all players tried to get those items, the majority of them would be left out, because it is programmed that only the top % of players will get them. And that's when the hardcore players were born, and what made a game a profession for some people, and unfair to compete against that only seek the pleasure and freedom of a game to spend their free time on. But some people actually spend their job times and more in it, a minority, but it seems that the game progresses looking after those players instead of towards the community, a community, by the way, that does not want them, or want them apart playing against each other.

IMO the biggest flaw is that the system is made to fight against your own faction instead of the opposing.

on my server premades played about 12 / day. one guy on horde side even occupied rank14 for months, because he didnt want anyone else to get it unless you shoved your head inside his ass.

when it was clear which premade was the stronger one and would win 3 / 4 cap 99% of the time the other premade just afked at the entrance.

Maybe thats simply a content for hardcore players then... meaning, its not meant for everyone... and that would mean people need to stop crying that they cant get everything they want... and if you get killed by a rank 14, you should feel honored that you got attention from a hardcore player. I think this is how it was in vanilla, when you looked back at the rank 14 guy who killed you and just become speechless.

But then its also true that it is not fun facing premades all the time in Warsong gulch, you just got to leave it to the premades and go to AB or AV. But i still think its a problem with the amount of premades tho.... A solo player should not face premades that often... i myself quit because of to many premades on Nost

Which can be fixed with a simple detection system.

They did detect and ban them, but this shit never stops. Definitly not the best solution.

Like I said, if you're against a lot of premade, that's because of imbalance in ally and horde population in PvP, and the only way to fix it is to go alliance and equalize the ratio so the amont of premade will be decreased naturally.

But let's be honest, premades are part of Vanilla, they'll never disappeare and I hope that they won't because at the end, it's a MMO, people will and should play together, blabla...
