I need your 2 cents!

Recommended Posts

Guys, I have/had a 53 warrior (tank spec from start as I am a full-hearted tank) on the Elysium PvP server which is now going to be transferred to the old Nost PvP (far progression :( ). I consider myself a decent tank as I always got credit from groups I was in and people happily reinviting me all the time. I set marks, request CC and can hold thread on multiple targets np. I have a lot of Vanilla/tbc experience as I played from 2005 - 2008 quit with WOTLK release (warlock t5, warrior tank lvl 67). My professions are all around 250 (BS, Mining, 1st aid and cooking). So I am not behind with those at all.

Does it make sense to keep playing this char on the old Nost PvP server at all - as a 53 prot warrior? Noone knows my char there, no reputation, nothing and not even 60 yet :(.

Am I ever going to find a (MC) raidspot when geared appropriately? Are there even guilds still running MC in need for a tank?

What you think?

I have a 54 Warlock on the Nost PvE server, too.

I would love to roll on the fresh server but going through all the lvling struggle and skilling professions again from scratch? Oh man I would like to avaoid it :P.

What would you do?

Thanks a lot!

(trolls welcome :))

Just play, you will find people to play with, and you will have plenty of time to make a name for yourself.

A lot of old guilds are coming back to the old Nost PVP server and most of them will be looking for people. By looking at the massive amounts of attention these projects are getting it is pretty safe to say that a lot of new people will be coming to both these servers (yes, specially to the fresh server in the first few months.)

Thus new guilds will be forming and there will always be a demand for new players. (And tanks)

Also guilds that had BWL on farm have many tanks that are 8/8 T2 and fury warriors got a lot of tank loot already too.    It is good practice to have a good stable of players (More than 40) for raid night.   Somebody might wanna take a night off, somebody might be BiS and only going to help guild and could sit for you to get the gear that is getting disenchanted.

Other guilds were just starting MC.

Other guilds didn't clear BWL yet.

Other guilds were only big enough for 20 mans.

Other guilds were just starting recruitment.

Guilds joining again most likely don't have all their players coming back and need to fill spots as well.   A good tank always shines.

http://i.imgur.com/jxtOQlu.jpg Check out this graph and see the amount of players that are close to level 60. 100% there'll be newly formed guilds after the relaunch. There are also some guilds that lost players and they'll want to refill those spots. Also, before the shut down there were around 10 guilds that actively were recruiting players for their MC farm raids and BWL progression. There were also few guilds that were fresh and starting MC progression. If you're a good player you will get recruited. Just get good part of your pre-raid bis items and you're good to go. Getting into a 'geared' guild is also a good thing because that way you'll get geared faster due to the lower competition on items. That's how things are on Horde side of the PvP realm in my opinion. I have really no idea how could you worry about such a thing. :)

Play your warrior my friend! Why not?

Or make a new character.

You decide!

The new Nostalrius PvP server will be a mixture of players

from the old Nostalrius server and players from the Elysium server

and a lot of new players.

That means you will find:

- a lot of players leveling from 1-60

- some players doing dungeons getting bis equip

- some players doing raids

- some players doing pvp

The population will be huge.

Don´t believe the "Fresh server only" hype.

Each one of the three servers will be great fun to play on.

You won´t have a problem finding groups for all sorts of dungeons.

You will be able to do pvp in every bracket.

It is going to be the promised land for everyone.

:girl_kiss:

Doesnt mather bro, you have a nice character on Nostalrius PvP. Never too late to make a name and show your skills to guilds who are recruiting they'll definitely taking you along.

You'll have a chance to play your warrior first since the old PvP server will be released first. Play on all of the servers to feel them out, it's hard to say what will happen when all 3 servers are up and running.

Were you alliance or horde on the old pvp server? And in what timezone?
My raiding guild is rebuilding on the old pvp server and we will probably be needing a tank or two :)

I guess you'll have three weeks or so to see the landscape on Nost PvP before fresh start.

I'm like you in that I will level in the spec I will play at end level (generally main prot warrior)

Well, I'm not one to race to end game, love dabbling in lower level BGs and playing a few alts. I'm fine "struggling" with less optimal leveling specs for periods of a time. :)

If you plan on being a tank for a competitive guild, you should get to 60 ASAP.  Those spots fill up the quickest and have the least turn over rate.

Not my plan to be a regular raider. I spend most of my time BGing/WPvPing.

Haha that's great, I love the little comment of "Sadly every second, 13 people die on the PvP realm."

I am playing Horde and I'm in GMT+1 timezone which should be exactly server time.

Totally would be tanking for your guild if my information above fits. Just let me know and I can tell you my Char's name.

This btw counts for any horde guild planning to rebuild, recruit or prepare for end game content on the old Nost PvP server. I'm a 53 tauren warrior tank well on his way to 60 and getting bis pre-raid gear. Just let me know via this thread or PM. I am way up there with my professions, too.

Ah, we're an alliance guild. So that wont work hehe.

But i wouldn't worry about finding a guild as a prot warrior, alot of guilds will be created/rebuilt on launch :)
