Do I really want to play on a PvP server?

Recommended Posts

World PvP makes the world feel dangerous and I feel that it adds to the entire experience.

Stay close to others of your same faction and group up!

There are definitely pros and cons for each type of server.  (and I'm sure every person's perspective on what is pro and con varies)  I find PvP servers feel much more alive and exciting. The world feels much larger and much, much more dangerous.  You spend most of your adventures with your head on a swivel for incoming ganks (and those are just from enemies that aren't stealthed).   At the same time, sometimes you just want to be able to relax after a long day and do some quests without having to corpse run over and over again.  I think PvE is better for the "World" aspect of WOW and PvP is better for the "Warcraft" aspect of WOW. It's nice to have options.

There ist just no adventure in traveling a world, where no one can harm you.

That's right! I have to protect my a.ss from LootOlfs 24/7 out there!

Creating an alt when/if world PvP is out of hand in your area is some advice I picked up on these forums i plan on implementing.

Very good points. That kinda sounds enticing in a way. And as a Pally I guess if I can't fight em, I sure have abilities to run away in a bubble. Hmm.

What about the pros and cons of Nost. PvP vs. Elysium PvP (aka fresh PvP)?

Bubble + Hearthstone is such an infamous combo. You are sure to be hated and adored at the same time. :)

Lol, I got an anxiety attack watching that. Yeah...looks like I'll be on the PvE server. Am I right in assuming the population will be less toxic as well?

Well, for the bolded.... I mean, anyone who gets their jollies corpse camping, or ganking lower levels, or griefing on a large scale cant really do ANY of those things on a PvE server effectively.

This makes the PvE servers rank pretty low on that kind of persons desired server type. It just so happens that the sort of people that really REALLY get off on that stuff, also happen to be the type fond of Harambe Memes, Edgelord behavior and general immature nonsense. It's not true of 100% of them, but there's a pretty big overlap between those two camps, so yeah you will get less of that on PvE Servers.

That sort of person also needs people to grief in order to fulfill that power trip, so often you will find that they are insecure/fearful of PvE servers being or becoming more popular, or even being looked at as a 1st option. Which is why a lot of them are downright nasty about PvE rulesets when you see them post on forums or reddit and like to insist that people don't roll on them because the server "will be dead" or that you need to "man up and play where I play". It's literally grade school logic all over again.

Make an alt rogue, stay stacked on the person you wanna kill, wait for splash damage.  They are now flagged for you to kill.

it's frustrating when you first enter a new zone and you're low level and there are higher level quests around

stv for example if you go there in the low 30s youre going to rage real hard

but if you go grind in middle of no where for a bit and do all of desolace and alterac first before hitting up stv

when you're 36-37 you won't have nearly as much of a hard time in stv players tend to only go after lower level players or players of the same level.
