Stephen 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2016 I never heard of shadowplay before, installed it and tested quickly, recorded 1 min of killing low level фекал in brill, 60 fps, 230mb file size, perfect. Thanks for making me aware of this gotmilk0112
Limitless 6 Report post Posted December 13, 2016 Fun thing is: it is always on! So if you want to record something, just press your keybind, it will go back +/- 5 mins in time
Legron 4 Report post Posted December 13, 2016 recorded 1 min of killing low level фекал in brill, 60 fps, 230mb file size, perfect. 1080p? I've never used Shadowplay before, because 1) Never really wanted to record something in WoW, 2) No idea is Shadowplay supports GTS 450 VGA
Lootolf 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2016 If you're looking for a real good recoring tool; I use action. Its not free though. OBS is pretty good and allows streaming, if you want a free recording software. For Editing i use Windows Movie Maker, even though its discontinued, soon gonna upgrade to Adobe Premiere.

Ironicly you pay for a good recording device, but edit with a фекал software

Simpn 1 Report post Posted December 13, 2016 I believe Raptr is AMD's answer to nVidia's Shadowplay. I've used it, and it's ok, but I've heard it has a greater impact on the computer's performance than Shadowplay. Personally I use OBS because it's a lot more flexible than Raptr. I still have a video from retail vanilla which was recorded with Fraps and I suppose that'd work too if you don't really care.
Pixelslyna 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2016 Locally record using OBS or just use shadowplay if you have an Nvidia card
Stephen 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2016 Free version of Fraps. Killed some mobs for 30 seconds, 60fps, 2.49GB file size, fkk. Really? What res? Mine was 1920x1080, with sound too.
Athena 3 Report post Posted December 14, 2016 OBS Studio is the best option for both recording and streaming. It can also use Nvidia NVENC (which is what Shadowplay uses), but has a lot more options over Shadowplay.
Papajimboh 12 Report post Posted December 14, 2016 Shadowplay is great if you've got an nVidia graphics card. This. All I use. So simple and crisp, and I LOVE the ability to cap the previous minute or so in case something happens when not recording. Also having a program that is simple to cut the videos down helps too. If you just want something cut and dry and basic, Easy Movie Maker is excellent.
Lifealert 19 Report post Posted December 14, 2016 (edited) Here is a question I have: You guys who use sony vegas: what encoder do you use for rendering your videos? I've used .wmv for years but it's pretty bad. Edited December 14, 2016 by Lifealert

I don't think it'll matter a ton depending on which you do.
Euronymous 2 Report post Posted December 14, 2016 Good goys, let a background screen recorder run 24/7. But yeah, shadowplay is your best option if you've got an nvidia card since its H.264 encoder is hardware accelerated and you don't end up having to manually encode 50gb of raw fraps data. Wow machinima tool 2.4.3 on a local mangos installation if you wanna capture in game scenery footage for RP or whatnot. Cyberlink for editing.
Revanent 1 Report post Posted December 14, 2016 (edited) yeah nvidia shadowplay all the way. I edit with Sony Vegas Pro 11.
