Non-blizzlike

I am sure there are several topics like this one, but I just wanted to let the Elysium staff know, that even thought I am extremely thankful for your hard work and all the effort you put into the servers, the non-blizzlike changes such as turning off certain consumables (for example; Sagefish Delight, Wizard Oils), edits to Dire Maul are extremely annoying and really upsetting, especially taking into consideration the server is labeled as Blizzlike and Progression Vanilla. I appeal that you guys revert the changes made by you recently.

They improved dire maul scripts so damn much and got them closer to blizzlike if anything, I assume you're talking about the pats in DM:East, if so those pats are supposed to move fast. do I need to log in to retail and show you?

 

I am referring to the final boss of DM East, who cannot be pulled without clearing the 3 plant packs around him, another 'improvement' in DM is Magister in West, who's Mind's Blast instead of doing 600 damage, deals 2.8k.

I apologize, I did not know about those 2 changes.  why would they buff Magister that much? any particular reason?

 

Don't even sweat about it. I have no clue why, but I am extremely upset about Magister, especially since I was able to 2 man him before with a rogue, which made farming Mindtap Talisman for our shamans really easy and quick, now it's a struggle again...

I've got a list of Nost fixes

 

*DMN final boss leashes with his adviser - due to 5-6 people crying on their forums that hunters (who needed to do a bit of prep and use potions) could farm DMN for gold

 

*Bounce back Aura on Goblin Bruisers (Now seems to extend to city guards) - . Don't really have a leg to stand on with this "fix" because for the launch of their PvE server nost made a custom NPC, though like always they fubbed it up and had two of him on the docks in booty bay. Easier and less annoying fix would to be what Blizzard did, add bouncers to the rooftops.

 

*Fix to AV backdoor - a whopping 10 people cried on their forum that Horde could jump into the middle of Allaince's final defense line that's riddled with NPCs both elite and non. To combat this they added a ton of mines to AV backdoor

 

Padding the walls of the insane asylum because 4 people are capable of hurting themselves is a good sign of a bad dev team. Then again I'm not surprised after the initial release of AV was buggy they threw their testers under the bus. one of the guilds <GRIZZLY> actually provided proof to refute dev's claims of "low to no documentation or bug reports".

Anybody know what the minimum level to use chat channels is now?

It was 5. Then 6. Raised my bank alts to 7 this weekend. Used Trade this morning -- literally 11PM (GMT -8), "cant use this channel yet".

Before I go through the minor hassle of leveling bank alts again -- what's the new minimum?

[Edit: and literally <2 minutes after I post this remark, I get a gold-seller whisper from a level 19. guess somebody's account got compromised lolololol]

Wizard, Mana Oils and Sagefish Delight aren't supposed to be in the game until 1.9 (AQ release).

So they disabled their usage until the patch drops, it was a mistake on the previous Nost to have enabled them in the first place.

If you noticed Nexus Crystals are gone now too and all of them were turned into Large Brilliant Shards, they also didn't exist until 1.9.

 

 

  • Enchanters can now turn some of their dusts and shards into magical oils. These oils when applied to weapons add a temporary bonus to magical damage or mana regeneration that stacks with permanent enchantments. The lower levels of these recipes are found on normal enchanting vendors. The higher level versions are found on special vendors and are rewards for high Zandalar faction.
  • The cooking trainers around the world sell the recipe for Sagefish and Greater Sagefish. These two fish types can be found in schools in inland areas and provide health and mana regeneration as well as additional mana regeneration for 15 minutes after eating.

Let's not forget Stitches is missing from the game. As soon as I learned this I switched to horde because Duskwood is my main reason for playing Alliance.

Should they not fix the old duping metods, because it was Blizzlike?

The gold sellers have been ruining wow since 2004. Make it hardere for them to aquire gold, and Ban the buyers.

The packs around Alzzin is supposed to aggro at 40% if you haven't cleared them, and he is supposed to have a short leash so you can't pull and kill him away from the packs.

As someone else mentioned, the consumables you're whining about is from patch 1.9, so they aren't supposed to be ingame yet. Same thing happened when Smoked Desert Dumplings was implemented too early on in the progression.

2 Manning a dungeon boss as a rogue + healer? Have the thought not occured to you that he might actually have been undertuned? I dunno about 2.8k, but his mind blasts definitely did at least 2k on retail back in the days. 600 dmg mind blasts is less than what players do lol.

 

Maybe do a bit of searching around next time, instead of assuming the staff is out to get you

Wrong.

 

This is a custom change just like DM:N Gordok is custom changed. That boss is NOT supposed to burst harder than ragnaros and should be soloable by hunters. They changed this because of "Gold Farmers" which is absolutely retarded.

 

This is not blizzlike and should be changed back to it's original blizzlike state.

 

PS: Maybe do a bit of searching around next time, instead of just assuming the doggy possition to get ваууed over by the staff.

What are you basing this on? In every Alzzin video on youtube from 9+ years ago, people clear the packs before engaging. If you check wowhead you can see multiple comments from early tbc confirming what I said about the plants aggroing at 40%.

I know none of this is definitive evidence, but I would love for you to show me anything that can prove otherwise.

 

I don't know why you are ranting about DMN, I didn't say those changes was blizzlike and I don't blindly support every decision made by the staff, so get off my dick nerd.

A - High population -> disproportionally large number of farmers, meaning they need to put a halt to these farming methods, or

A) I couldn't really understand intuitively, B. would sound more reasonable, though if the high population actually meant they need to stray from the blizzlike-path,

I do wonder if it's not just better to open up more servers. Maybe with the same naming policy (e.g. 2 servers, but you can't take a name that's already taken on the other), so they could be merged easily in case population ever drops. But then again, not sure if e.g. 2 servers with 6000 pop each tie up more resources than 1 server with 12k pop, so dunno if they have the manpower for that

Nothing should be changed from the original state of the game WTF!!!!!

 

Farming is part of the game and why punish people that out in time and effort.

 

And if it happens to be Goldfarmers as well, then that isnt something players should be punished for.

 

Find a different solution and keep the game in its original state..........christ

How about replying to my post instead of getting butthurt and going personal? I just want to know your sources to back up your claim, since neither you or the OP supplied any.

 

I think it's fair to ask someone to have their фекал sorted before they start demanding stuff, so other people don't have to spoonfeed them the information. I'm sorry if that offends you.

DM was never intended to be your personal safe-space for farming. Get over it.

 

It's still farmable.

 

DM:E jump runs and DM:N are blatant custom changes.

 

I don't give a s.hit about what you are farming, I do give a s.hit about straying away from Blizzlike.

i think its obvious gold sellers abuse DM to exxessivly farm gold and thats something the staff has to deal with. nobody wants gold sellers here. but its questionable if the changes are the right answer to this, as they also hit normal ppl - those that just enjoy solo'ing group content.

 

imo, it would be better if certain instances, such as DM, could only be reset once per hour so its no longer profitable for gold sellers. other than that, leave it  100% blizzlike

It's amazing the amount of mental gymnastics people in this thread and on this server in general will go to in justifying shitty practices. Let's all be honest, the only thing Nostalrius ever had going for it was population. What would happen if a better server came along where devs didn't "fix" things in a vain attempt to stop chinese gold farmers? The answer is simply this; a good portion of this server would jump ship. Most of the people wanting a fresh start or having not gotten too far into leveling would leave instantly. Most 60s would probably stick around because "MUH GEAR". Which is silly considering most 60s in this game now more or less just raid log or sit in org waiting for BGs to pop.
