Finally!!! Grinded hard now I can use epic daggers!

Recommended Posts

Finally, today's the day, i'm 4 bars away from level 40, and as well as 4 bars away from using the two 'Gut Rippers' I bought on the AH.

I grinded my ass off for days to afford these, I've decided to postpone getting my mount.

Hard work pays off! Can't wait to kill some things.

:)

^that too

daggers are shit for rogue leveling; you can't effectively backstab mobs, and combat+swords/maces provides much better dps while solo

I haven't had an issue using mine. I plan on dropping it once I get thrash blade, but the dagger it self is fine. The top end on it is good at 40, you can still quest effectively with it. It does start becoming subpar when you get to ZF tho, the mace that drops in there is very good, but I'm gonna stick with the gut ripper till thrash blade.

They hit hard as well, great DPS for dungeons, fun ganking as well as you can usually blow someone up. However, it is true. Swords and maces are better while leveling in terms of killing npc's.

At the end of the day its how you want to play the game really, have fun with em.

40->50 2 days playtime , dont worth at all using the 2 daggers , but its gameplay , so have fun

(Btw 1-40 is  same time you need to spend to get 40-60 , so you got only half way to 60 ) nice grind )

I heard that you can backstab mobs while strafing but i doubt it is really blizzlike.

Was going to say that eventually someone is going to say "but you can backstab mobs by strafing through them"

I've watched multiple rogues doing this while leveling, and guess what... it looks dreadful. Strafing around, facing the wrong way for white damage sometimes, and energy capping because you're trying to use a positional ability while soloing is laughable.

It's actually extremely easy, you'd have to be pretty dumb to energy cap. Not to mention Ambush takes away 60% of their health.

World PvP is a part of leveling (unless you're a PvE server casual), and daggers is the way to go.

People who think leveling as dagger spec being sup-par, are just lazy.  It's called Gouge > BS > SS > eviscerate.         usually the mob is pretty close to dead by then.  Is it more tedious than spamming Sinister strike all day?  Yes, but leveling as daggers can be just as effective just as long as you know what you're doing.

You can get the same, if not more damage by just going combat swords and mashing SS -> Evic

/shrug

why put in more effort for the same damage

Ez. First you ambush, then save 80 energy, gouge>backstab=gg

For fun and/or immersion, if a player prefers daggers.

it's pretty easy to just Gouge and then backstab especially if he's backstab spec and has imp gouge and imp backstab.

Gotmilk you are wrong on this.  Drop it.

It takes more concentration leveling dagger, but your damage done vs damage received ratio is far better for dagger.  Meaning less down time and less times letting bonus crit expire.

97%-ambush crit before factoring gear/agility.   Energy watch to use it right before tick.

Love how you guys says, just SS and it's dead.   You grinding rabbits?   You are doing fractions of damage from SS vs Ambush.  Backstab 30% more crit too.
