Hunters pet keep seein me stealth miles away

Recommended Posts

Hello !

I remember having this issue on nostalrius, when u fight with a hunt, if u run away and stealth his pet still target, follow, and attack u at the end.
Im pretty sure its a bug tho, but still im asking.

In the case its not a bug, maybe that deserve a nerf ? Because the fact that a pet can see you trought the entire map seems a bit exxagerated xd.
Especially that the fact he cant see you at the beginning of the fight when u are 10 meters close is totally absurd x)

Thanks for your attention ! I hope you find a way to fix it :)

Hunters can track hidden and mark you, therefor you are always visible for him and his pet. Just how it is.

But that issue has been solved on BC,so i think that mechanic wasnt that much expected by the dev. Too bad that is still a current problem on Private servers...

This is not a bug.

Specifically, it is not a bug to  be attacked by a Hunter pet while (re)stealthed. ( this mechanic also works with Warlock pets )

Consider the following scenario (which is usually how it happens):

- You (a Rogue) attack me (a Hunter).  I instruct my pet to attack you.

- I proceed to kick your ass (which is what would happen cuz BHOTS).  In desperation, you Blind me and Sprint away.  I am disoriented, but my pet is still targeting you.

- Because you are Sprinting away, you put enough distance between yourself and my pet that you are able to drop combat and re-stealth (Note: this is "manually" re-stealth and NOT gaining Stealth by way of Vanish.)

- However, because of "Pet AI", re-stealthing does not break targeting, so until/unless I instruct my pet to cease its pursuit of you, it will continue to track you (even though you are stealthed).

- When my pet is in melee range of you, it will continue to auto-attack, causing you to lose Stealth and enter combat yourself.

This specific scenario is NOT a bug and is totally "Blizz-like" and this mechanic is one of those lesser-known mechanics that separate the pros from the not-pros.

There are also specific conditions where a Rogue can Vanish, but lose stealth because it was hit by a Hunter pet AOE ability immediately thereafter [Notably: Screech (Bats) and Thunderstomp (Gorillas)]

Pro tip : You can distract a pet which is out of combat when it is coming your way. Will stop it and effectively let you remain in stealth.

It's a sad interaction of how the game mechanics work.  Because Vanish doesn't aggro wipe AND force a Drop Target in hostiles RELIABLY it won't "countermand" a NPC (such as a Pet) who has been "ordered" to attack you.  So you'll disappear into Stealth, but the NPC still has cheater/perfect targeting on you and it doesn't drop just because you used Steatlh.

It's one of those "glass half empty/half full" kinds of deals when what you really need is the glass to be either empty OR full, but not "both" at the same time ... and yes, that is "Blizz-like" due to lazy programming done in the first place by Blizzard.  It was an issue in retail vanilla and it's an issue here, so if you want to blame anyone for the (mis)behavior, blame Blizzard, not Elysium staff.

Warlock, here.

If I see a Rogue unstealthed, then I send my pet, then he stealths, even if you're nowhere to be seen my pet will follow and find you.

I honestly don't think it's a bug. A charachter will loose your target but a send spell would still hit you. "Send pet" seem to have the "spell" mechanics.

Concretly now I spam send pet on every battleground at every rogue even if been miles away LOL

But if the hunter has put a mark on you. You also can see the mark flashing over your head. So I don't think this is the issue, he is talking about.

Pets remaining aggro for restealth I can live with, but the super-stealth buff seldom works and that's terrible. You'll vanish next to an enemy and instead of gaining, like, 200-300 points of stealth, enemies see you as if you were just in ordinary stealth. Happens all the time to me, it's a ridiculously broken ability - but hey, at least it removes snares and roots.
