Swamphell 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2017 I know that it's insanely easy to find a group as a tank in 5 mans, considering I've never been able to DPS an instance from dead mines until now, haha. I want to eventually do end game raids after I gear up, but I know unless I find a new up and coming guild, it's going to be very difficult to get a tanking spot. I guess what my question really is, how common/easy is it to get into groups being a fury warrior, because every time I've tried when I have been leveling up I still ended up being a tank.
Hurricane2 2 Report post Posted March 22, 2017 You see them in raids a lot but pretty much never in 5 mans.

Pwnana 1 Report post Posted March 22, 2017 (edited) Befriend a few tanks and don't roll on the items they are seeking. There should be no prob getting into group with them then - Fury is great DPS/offtank after all. I run dungeons as fury with the tanks in my guild all the time. The only problem is your lack of CC really that limits your usefulness in groups. It's more difficult if you're looking for purely random groups all the time since the tank slot is way more likely to be vacant than the DPS. So there's a good chance you'll be asked to tank. Swamphell 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2017 Typically speaking; how many fury warriors are in a raid group? Pardon my ignorance. I never did a whole lot of vanilla end game PvE stuff.

Ideally you'd want atleast 1 per melee group for Battleshout.
Haestingas 30 Report post Posted March 22, 2017 A fair amount of guilds bring 4+, due to the strength of battleshout and also due to the fact that fury warriors are one of the top performing dps classes. You are also very flexible in a raid environment, where most guilds only bring 2-3 protection tanks since fury can offtank fairly well once you have the gear. The advice I have for you when gearing up from 5-10 mans is to tank them but say upfront that you will be rolling on the fury gear. Since tanks are generally the rarest role to find people generally are fine with letting you roll on both tank and fury items. This will let you find groups insanely quickly, which in turn will enable you to gear up.

Another thing you can do is to tank and roll on dps gear. This is how you gear a fury fast.

Undertanker 88 Report post Posted March 23, 2017 Not sure if you are EU/NA/OC or what server. But just looking at the guild recruitment thread on Anathema, many guilds are in the process of recruiting a fury warrior.

You typically only have 2-3 melee groups so you definitely want more than 1 per group, it's not all about the buff but about the raw dps. Furys are the best dps in the game for current content and any good raid set up will bring at least five of them. edit: I saw that you wrote "at least" now, but point still stands. For OP: Finding a spot as any dps isn't particulary hard as long as you farm your pre-raid gear, enchant it and bring consumes to raids. Undertanker 88 Report post Posted March 23, 2017 3 minutes ago, Adeline said: any good raid set up will bring at least five of them. This. 2-3 prot warriors and try to bring 5 fury warriors. Your fury warriors should be loading up on tank gear as well after your prot warriors get what they need. This gives you great OTs for certain fights that require them and you'll have your 7-8 tanks for 4HM in Naxx depending if you use first HM zerg strat or not.
Swamphell 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2017 I appreciate the feedback everyone, it has been really insightful. To be honest, I never really thought about need rolling on DPS gear, but considering if you're playing the highly demanded tank roll, and let everyone know you're rolling before hand, it really does make a lot of sense.
Alrik 6 Report post Posted March 23, 2017 Thats how i hot my Pre-Bis. Join as Tank, state CLEARLY that you'll there for DPS gear aswell, still get your feet kissed because Tanks are always in high demand. (You need to learn to tank anyway since as a Warrior you'll always tank something in Raids)
