Shenna's Resignation

Recommended Posts

Since creating this project, I have had only one vision for Elysium: recreating my favorite version of WoW and playing/sharing it with all of my friends. As of late, there have been many things in our path that have attempted to de-rail this vision.

The most recent has been individuals questioning my integrity and ability to lead the project. As a final act of good faith to the community, to stop harmful rumors, and in order to secure the continued success of the Elysium Project; I will be resigning to protect the project from any harm which would be cased by the witch hunt against me.

The truth is, I already have resigned. For the past month I have been assembling and promoting leads to different sections of the project, but have been absent from day to day operations. These sections are Development, Community, QA, and Game Masters.

Each of these sections has their own responsibilities and concerns, but their leaders act as a core unit to lead the project. Each group has equal authority in running Elysium. This ensures that each part gets an equal voice and control over the server's destiny. It also means that no one individual can have more access or control than the others, eliminating the potential of abuse.

In the past week, I have completely stepped away from leading the project. This was the final test to see if the project would be stable without my presence, and it has with flying colors. I can say with certainty that many of the problems we have experienced in the past have been resolved, and internally, there have been great improvement. I have no doubt in my mind that the new structure will maintain focus on the community, as well as remain committed to the original values we founded the Elysium project on.

Following my post, the new leaders of the project will be introducing themselves along with their respective roles and plans for the future. They will be answering any questions you have about the details of this new structure, how it will work, and what you can expect from it.

At the end of the day, we have a great number of active players, stability, and one of the most progressed server (in terms of bugfixes) in private server history. This change to staff structure is the final installation needed to take the Elysium Project to new heights. I am very proud of what we have accomplished so far with Elysium, and I want to thank all of the team members involved over the past several months. To the players, content creators, game masters, developers, open source contributors, and other staff members — we couldn’t have achieved what we have achieved without you.

My goal was to create a united legacy movement, and I think we succeeded for a brief time — regardless of who gave up or ran away scared. I really hope that one day we will see a rebirth of this unity so we can prove how truly great the private server scene can be.

The Elysium Project is run by the community, for the community.
I hope that this decision will properly reflect this fact.

With that, I bid you all adieu.
Shenna

Who is in charge now and will there be any changes?

Sorry to see you leave over all the drama, the majority doesn't care and just want a stable server.

Its not fair that some loud hateful people drove you away from us.

Unsure about the positive effects of this to be honest.

The people who were going to be leaving because of lack of faith in you already left the server, and the people who wont be coming back still have the vitaliy boogeyman excuse.

Regardless of what i thought of you as an administrator I still believe this is a sad day for the project as a whole.
