Dead Zone during Quest Leveling

Recommended Posts

After I got my first character to about lvl30, I realized that if I didn't travel everywhere possible and kept perfectly in synch with quests, I'd soon run out of quests and would have to grind to advance.  So, when I created an alt, I was particularly careful to never get too far ahead in level compared to available quests ... and this time I made it to 35 ... and again hit the wall.  I have no place to go.  I brought a few classes to 40 that way, and now want to advance my mage to end game.  At level 41, I have done all the level 44 quests available everywhere and am now facing quests that are a bit of a struggle to live through.  Is this what the game is about?

Do you have Questie addon? If not, that's probably why you miss a lot of quests.

You can level a character from 1 to 60 on quests only.

Hehe ... Maybe so about Questie ... and I used it, but often when I complete quests and try to hand them in, I get a DC.  You can imagine how quickly that gets old.

Never had this issue, perhaps you should try to download it from different source.

I've heard alliance have a few less quests to level up on.

Try not to skip any green or higher quests, including dungeon quests. It should be fairly easy to get groups for the elite quests with the high population on our server.

Agreed. A LOT of players skip green quests because they think they aren't worth doing. They still give xp and they're so much easier to do as well. Never skip green quests unless it's a single quest in a zone very far out of your way.

So at lvl 35, have you been to:

Desolace

Arathi highlands

Dustwallow Marsh

Ashenvale(Forestsong)

Hillsbrad Foothills / Alterac mountains

Wetlands

Badlands

Swamp of Sorrows

Stranglethorn Vale

I usually skip around 3-4 of these zones because I'm high enough, so what are you doing?

I find this issue with Horde, I have a level 29 character, I've finished Thousand Needles but am stuck for leveling. But that's only because I want to level exclusively through Kalimdor. Otherwise I would go to arathi/hillsbrad.

Lol, Truth! But like Crysthal said, there are quite a few places to go so you should look into all the places he showed you that you haven't already been. There are plenty of quests for you to lvl all the way to 60.

On Anathema, the mob camps never have anyone there.

As long as you finish every quest in the zone you're in before moving to the next area you will be fine.

1-60 on just quests no grind. If you get stuck on an Elite quest just /who and ask a 60 for help, toss them a gold.
