Xom 8 Report post Posted November 30, 2016 As we all know, Classic WoW has many marvelous eons of grinding of all kinds to indulge ourselves. Some of it is small in scope and some of it is epoch striding. Whether the way we attain our next Tier or PvP gear, or studiously crafting up a trade skill, or how someone gets Rank14 after months, or finishing the grind and hitting the Gong for AQ!... or if it's how we just finally get our new weapon up to snuff for raids - it consumes our choices. Which one will you pursue today? And what will you actually revel in as you do? Some of these include farming (or battling for) resource nodes, farming mobs, farming rep, farming dungeons for gear, or even those constant leveling altoholics, but they all hold that one overarching principle in mind: do this again and again until you are rewarded (hopefully). Some people are unable to bring themselves to do something without qualms, and will bleat to guild chat the entire time they slog through something that is not necessary, but let us speak mostly of the grinds that are actually enjoyable to you. We all enjoy slightly different incremental increases in this game - but feel free to chime in with what you hate as well if you must. For me I have always enjoyed the process of grinding elite melee mobs on my Mage, since they give me some modicum of practice for PvP fighting melee classes and kiting. The loot isn't bad too. They also give a good approximation to what it's like to pull aggro and then practice Blinking through the mob to kite back towards the imaginary Tank. I also can't get enough of grinding dungeons while leveling a Warrior in order to make my gear top notch. It's so cake to make groups if you're a competent tank that you're almost always rocking full blue gear. I'll also add that I love PvP so much, but PvP Grinding is something I have not done since back in retail. It was my most Beloved Grind at the time for sure, I just have yet to experience it adequately since then. Sooon! Oh yesss~ So what do you enjoy grinding? What activity will you gleefully sign up for time and again while others may quizzically reconsider?
gotmilk0112 10 Report post Posted November 30, 2016 I like the "grinding" because the time spent gets you more invested in your character. That and, for some classes like Priest and pre-MS Warrior, it's nice to just hit autoattack on the mob and then alt tab and do something else while you wait for it to die.
Demonthese 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2016 (edited) I know it wont be out for awhile but I like grinding Dirges Chops. Mainly because its takes a group, 3-4 is generally pretty good, but also because its a great raid food and you usually run into pvp with other factions or get to know other players on your faction. When you can get some good group pvp with really geared people its always a blast. Edited November 30, 2016 by Demonthese

Undertanker 88 Report post Posted November 30, 2016 (edited) I enjoyed grinding the Argent Dawn rep. Spam running Strat UD speed runs, half way through found Scholo is slightly better if you can get 2x whelp turn-ins per run. I had one rule in these runs: DO NOT LOOT UNTIL EVERYTHING FROM THE PULL IS DEAD!!! and would kick you if you did. This gave everybody collecting stones an equal opportunity to loot them. As I would be busy tanking mobs, DPS would ninja them and healer would feel shafted as well. (ironic how people spend hours arguing (theory crafting) about damage done yet will stop mid fight to loot crap. I was grinding the rep because I wanted to be one of the few people on the server with the Tabard of the Argent Dawn I hit max rep back in October, which only a very select few did by that time, and realized I couldn't get this yet until Scourage Invasion Top KeK. I'll get it soon enough, will match especially well with T3 gear. I now grind Strat UD mount runs. One day.... one day..... Docholy 4 Report post Posted November 30, 2016 The ваууing argent dawn rep grind. Holy фекал. Yes I got shafted in vanilla and on Nost. Often time in dungeons with collect X amount I was the last one to get фекал since I had to heal.
SikSan 4 Report post Posted November 30, 2016 (edited) I enjoy grinding open world pvp kills. I mean fair play against nearly equal opponents I'd call this a perfect evening for me outdoors in Azeroth - Edited November 30, 2016 by SikSan
Demonthese 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2016 AD rep was always easy for me because I need so much from those dungeons. Scholo and Strat have a few BIS preraid items for warriors + there are two flask recipes as well. Never tried the AD tabard with my T3, might have to jump on and go grab it.

As a healer with last mob up you have a chance to move to a dead body/bodies. Whom ever is the fastest shift+clicker wins. Then when I was done with the rep and doing mount runs, peopled loved 1 less person not needing stones, but I still enforced the same rule so the healers loved coming to my runs.

Xykaru 1 Report post Posted November 30, 2016 I like farming anything that gives me minimal downtime and maximum benefit while still having plenty of pvp encounters in between. Love doing dungeon speed runs backtobacktobacktoback with a good party.
ironskillet2 2 Report post Posted November 30, 2016 (edited) mining has always been a favorite grind for me, would mine for hours in BC back in the day, loved flying around nagrand on the nost PvE server i loved getting into that rhythm where you would always get the same spots because you time it where you show up 10 seconds within it spawning back, ofc sometimes you wont get it even with those 10 seconds but its nice to know you got the pacing down lol Edited November 30, 2016 by ironskillet2

Shayss 43 Report post Posted November 30, 2016 I really liked farming DM:E with my priest. On a side note, and I doubt I would be able to do it on these servers, but on retail I also liked to do circuits around Winterspring for Thorium. That zone and the music is just so peaceful.
cryofsorrow 5 Report post Posted November 30, 2016 I'll have to join the AD rep farm club. Eventhough I'm Exalted already I love spamming Stratholme UD and Scholomance (mainly for runes) just for the sake of it. I even got that epic staff from Scholo, heh. Dire Maul Tribute runs as well for mana potions. What can I say, a shadow priest's life. Also, I love farming Demonic Runes from the demons in Azshara. I've had plenty of 1v1 PvP action in there and had a couple of blue and purple items dropping that sold for good coin.
